seems like it

also the talent pool that he's coached as an NBA assistant is devastatingly poor...

2013-16 Sixers (the Process era before Embiid got healthy)
2016-18 Nets (the really untalented teams that did not overachieve like their 2019 team)
2020-22 Rockets (Silas era)

Who's the most talented player that actually played for those teams? (not counting two weeks of Harden with both feet out the door in 2020-21)

Unironically, is it Christian Wood? The last year of Brookl Lopez before he become the Splash Mountain?

He did win G league coach of the year previously, which is probably his main role in Charlotte.

Anyone interested in using the MLE on Beasley? Despite the guard glut, I wouldn't hate it.

I would be all for it, but we drafted Kon with a top 5 pick. Bringing in more competition at his position doesn't make sense right now.

Feels like Monks value has fallen again, undersized scorers are just too common for a niche fit

His best position is next to his buddy Fox but that's boat has sailed for now

His 3 point shooting numbers was one of the best in the league last season, I don't know anything else about him though. But if you think he fits, you would be crazy not to try

Beasley the player is interesting but Beasley the person? Sued repeatedly for financial tomfoolery, served 78 days in jail In 2020 for marijuana possession, concealing stolen property, and brandishing a firearm - pled guilty to making threats of violence, etc.

That's the side that makes him a poor fit, let him go to a contender, he could help a winning team.

Hopefully he's put some **** behind him and has matured, too risky for our lot though

Not many get past this kind of crap. Miles is a Bridge too far as it is.

Agreed. Beasley can shoot the rock but he's another liability on the defensive end. Add in the off court issues and it's not worth the trouble for the Hornets whose main priority should be developing Brandon and Kon.

i wouldn't hate it even though he's a total head case. Nobody else out there is worth using the MLE on anyway, so why not.

I wouldn't want to give him more than 1 guaranteed year though. I don't trust him to have another all-time 3-point shooting season again.

We're not defending anyone or having any kind of interior presence on this team whether we play big or small, so screw it, let's try to just break teams offensively, and run some micro-ball lineups, play some minutes with 4 wings and space things out to a ridiculous degree. something insane like Melo/Sexton/Beasley/Kon/Miller would honestly be more fun than any lineup we could roll out with one of our bigs. Even though you're basically forfeiting points to any opposing big man

Saw a random video on youtube ranking all the benches in the league. They had us like number 12. We had to be worst last year. Should see a big improvement incoming.

replacing Micic/Baugh/KJ Simpson for Sexton alone should be a giant boost by itself if Sexton can play the full season. If we hadn't kneecapped the center position, I thought the Sexton acquisition alone could've put us in play-in position in this trash conference

No way on Beasely. He is opposite of what they need culture improvement wise.
The bench should actually be a strong point this year. Kon or Cam, Tre, Liam, TJ and Grant, Kalk and Green are all actual NBA player level dudes. Last year we had like 5 g league types, some starting.

I don't see why we would sign Beasley. He's not significantly better than Sexton (if he is at all).

I think we're pretty much done with signings now. I don't think the Bacot rumor was legit, he would've been announced by now if it was.
