I love how when they dump the water bucket on the guys all the junk that's in there, looking like the Death Star trash compactor.

Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Of course Cubs hit a HR in the 9th to win 3-2.

Re: Brewers/Giants Series
I love how closely these Brewers series threads are starting to mirror our Bucks game threads. The level of dread, exasperation, scorching hot takes and rollercoaster emotional swings that are typical of an early March road game against the Celtics are alive and well here on the Brewers board.
Well done, Crew! You're bringing out the best in us!

Murph said in his postgame that Frelick might not be available today. He said Frelick might get tased for getting picked off of third and he’s not sure what the recovery time is for that

That lineup. Woof. Bauers better not be getting regular starts going forward either.

Re: Brewers/Giants Series
Bauers won't get a lot of starts, but he's their main LHB power bat on the bench and they are absolutely right to get him enough PA's to keep him from getting rusty. He's barely an MLB player, but he is one that plays a role the Brewers need. Who can forget his clutch HR against the Mets in game 3 of the playoffs last year? THAT'S why he's playing today, to stay ready for PA's like that. Murphy is right and I'm glad he's in charge.
I've been seeing a lot of reactionary takes this year. I'm old enough to remember when Caleb Durbin was the 3B of the future and the Brewers had no business exploring other options at the trade deadline. Vaughn's track record is not so great that you can say they should just let Bauers rot on the bench. He's got an .810 OPS in August and a .723 career OPS. Some platooning is appropriate, and it's going to be nice to occasionally have him PH for a Monasterio, Lockridge, Durbin, Ortiz, or Jansen in some key situations.
Hoskins has less of a pathway to regular PA's when he returns because he's an RHB, but he should DH against most LHP's. Yelich hasn't looked comfortable against LHP's for a while and needs to just sit those games out IMO.

Agreed. Not to mention they are in the middle of 18 games in a row or whatever. Guys need breaks. The crew have a big lead on the division and 1 seed. They have the luxury of resting guys.

Agreed! They did a good job of celebrating him. Do they do that with all of the wall inductees? I figured it was only the walk of fame.
Kind of forgot how dominate Axford was in that stretch around that 2011 team.

I been around here frequently in the last 2-3 years and think it was 2023 where we were just going to have 1 game thread for the entire season because only had a half dozen-ish posters. By end of last season into this one this site is popping. Love it.

I have absolutely no issue with Bauers getting a start today. Vaughn could use a day off. Just saying going forward I hope he doesn't get more starts than he deserves.

Thanks. Didn't mean to call anyone out either, but it seems like there have been a TON of posts hating on some of our players because people think whoever the darling of the month happens to be should be getting ALL TEH PLAYING TIME. Case in point, Seigler had better periphals than Durbin but people were furious that he was playing - well, Seigler has a higher OPS than Durbin this month, so maybe it's time to just kick back and let Murphy cook.
Also, the beauty of this team is that nobody is bigger than the team; everyone is a part of it and has a chance to contribute. It's the ultimate team effort - literally one of the greatest of all-time, behind only the 2001 Mariners in my lifetime - and it's beautiful. Just relax and let Jansen, Bauers, Monasterio, Seigler, and Lockridge be part of it. If Murphy thinks they belong, I trust him implicitly.

I'm sorry, it was more a general comment than just a response to your post. Seems like it's been going on nearly all year and I just happened to figure out how I wanted to articulate it after your post. See my follow-up post for some clarification.
Short version: this is a true team effort. Just let the guys you don't like play. If Murphy wants them to play, then we should too. Bauers in particular has been too much of a whipping boy for nearly 2 full seasons now. I know he's a fringe player, but he has a legit role on the team until they get a better LHB bench bat.
