More trade value - Camara or Barnes?

Locked up on MLE contract, prime DFS couldn't fetch a single unprotected 1st coming off a 50 wins and western conference finals where he was the best defender on the team amd 3rd best player, not seeing the team that gives 2 unprotected 1sts for Camara.

OKC has picks and then some.

They are the exception.

They cant afford his next contract unless they drop dort or caruso who are just as good if not better players

The answer here is:

1. Camara has more value across more teams -- i.e. more teams would give up good value in a trade to get him because he fits so well with a lot of rosters.

2. Barnes would fetch more from a couple of teams then Camara would fetch from any team.

In other words, more teams would give up a couple of picks for Camara. But there'd be a Sacramento or a Charlotte or someone else who would love Barnes and pay more than any team would pay for Camara.

I think this was spot on until you said a couple of picks. No one is giving up multiple first round picks for either player.

Barnes contract should be considered negative, not a negative player per se…yet, but I don’t see many teams offering substantial positive packages for him on his current contract (and subsequently his upside). Barnes is one under performing season away from having one of the uglier contracts in the league imo.

This is somewhat a trick question because while I rather have Camaras archetype I don’t think I could say with a straight face that he has more trade value *currently.

You know I like Camara and would like to have him on the Pacers but there is no way he's worth more than Scottie Barnes!!!


Camara might be a better defender and he's a better 3pt shooter but I'll stick with Barnes.

2nd team all defense as a second year player.

I like Camara but would rather have Barnes at this moment.

I do find Chuck's idea of Barnes to the Hawks intriguing. I also like the fit with the Hornets. I suspect Barnes returns more because it will be easy enough for a couple teams to imagine their rosters are better fits.
