Maybe they should have had the balls to get a starter like Bieber.

Even if Bieber doesn't re-sign, that was one of the better moves of the deadline, especially when you factor in cost. If Bieber is winning playoff games *reversejix* , it's a game changer.

And if they pull off Berrios 2.0 with Bieber, it's not even up for debate - it would be far and beyond the greatest move of the deadline.

Absolutely agree. Even if Bieber leaves, it was still a good move if he wins games in October and performs well down the stretch. Hopefully this organization can sign him to a long-term contract though with Bassitt and Scherzer free agents this year, and Gausman after next year.

It will not be a good look to simply lose Bo, and replace him with Gimenez at SS. Gimenez's bat is nowhere near the level of Bichette, and this team will suffer dramatically in 2026 if that is the case.

Unless there is an injury I dont believe they will be able to call Fisher up for another week or so .. I think it’s 7 or 10 days. (But I could be wrong)

I just did some check on the rules.
Unless its as an injury callup, or a one day call up for a double header game only, Fisher has to stay in the minors for 15 days.
So unless there is an injury, we will not see him until September 1.

Probably don't want to demote Fluharty either for an innings eater for a few days either, because then Fluharty might be unavailable for 15 days.

We just need to stick with what we have it appears until September.

Fluharty was demoted for an innings eater about 15 minutes ago

Why is manoah back with the team? Is he not making any more starts in buffalo?

So if I understand the rule properly Fluharty can't come back to the main roster until September 8th now... unless there is an injury. Perhaps Schultz gets taken out Jeff Gillooly style after the game so we can bring back Fisher this week!

My guess is Schultz is up for a little while, then they flip him for Justin Bruihl to get a lefty in the pen until we can bring back Fluharty.

Still playing in Buffalo as far as I know. I think they allow him to hang out with the team in between starts from time to time, Perhaps he came back to Toronto this weekend for a medical check or some rehab work, and they let him stick around for a day or two.

One of the problems of the 6 man rotation, is that we have to cut our bullpen from 8 to 7.
And since in this analytical age, there is no interest in letting the starters pitch more if they add a day, it wears down the bullpen even more quickly.

Is Andres Gimenez worth the $20M+ he will get starting in 2027. No.

But he's not that far off in terms of value of the $10M we are paying him this year. Stud defensively.

Biggest punt lineup I’ve ever seen
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

I realize sprinter has been hitting well again but they should have him in a run producing spot instead of lead off

Lately this lineup hasn’t been working the pitch count up for opposing starters like there had been for most of the season

That was the approach that really made this offense click.

Worth the starter, then do damage against the bullpen

Probably should have put out a lineup capable of scoring if they actually wanted to do that against a pitcher this good

MVP varsho is in the lineup, how can you say this lineup isn’t capable of scoring
