The Bo situation will be interesting. His body of work has been pretty good offensively since coming into the league. Defense 50/50.
The FO / Ownership want to spend on great players and he's one of their own. My guess is they offer him a pretty big deal rather than not offering anything but there will be other offers out there for him too.

I'm expecting it will be something in the Springer range of 150/6, plus he obviously gets a QO if they don't do the extension before the off-season.

FO won’t want anything to do with him at the price he will get, ownership may be a different story as we’ve seen recently when Ed gave out the worst contract in baseball history.

Then you must not watch a lot of other shortstops. He’s a near league worst -10 DRS this year and almost single-handedly destroys their infield defense. That’s only going to continue as his range and speed decline further (which has already happened at a rapid rate over the past 2 years). Bo can’t play the position any longer and the Jays will have recognized that a while ago.

Not if the FO has any say in it. Some desperate team will pay him as a shortstop and it’s not gonna be this one if Ed stays out of it this time.

Nah. They will throw him a competitive offer. I just think we get outbid in the end

Only if Ed says so. Not a chance otherwise.

Can’t see it happening. He’s a literal pylon in the field.

Yeah, pylon in the field alright.
-10 DRS and it isn’t because of his arm. Not a mystery to figure out why.
Vlad himself might even have more range these days.

I think the Dodgers make a massive offer, in the range of 10-year $300M+
That will not be tenable for the Jays, especially when you have Gimenez and then Nimala/JoJo coming up. They’ll probably look to make up the offense in the outfield via acquisition

Kirk is on roids. There is no other explanation.

Would you be fine if Bo walked and the Jays signed Kyle Tucker?? But even then, Tucker will be demanding the same kind of money if not more.

The defense overall is probably better, and you add a touch more power. But to your point, wouldn’t make sense to spend virtually the same thing (likely more) and give up on a home grown player who’s a fan favorite and loves playing here.

Yah they’ll def be in the mix. Still one of the top hitters.

The Yankees will offer him the most money. Volpe has been terrible defensively and offensively, and they will be targeting to improve the SS position with a lot of money coming off the books after this year for them. I do not how the Dodgers get it done with a Luxury Tax Payroll of over 400 Million, and all of their salary commitments going forward and players they are looking to sign. Maybe Bichette will get a salary of 2 million a year like Ohtani with the rest being deferred. However, Dodgers cannot be ruled out also.

The Yankees are a definite a candidate, especially after the year Volpe has had.
The case for the Dodgers: they don’t have a SS, Betts has declined offensively, Freeman is quite old and will inevitably start declining. They need a major piece around Othani - Bo I think is the perfect fit

They already have their 500M DH. Don’t need a 2nd one.
