Kwesi legit putting together the all time worst drafting GM in the history of the league. The only reason this dude still has a job in the NFL is because KOC is a freakishly good coach (someone he didn’t have any input on hiring).

I knew you we're gonna take a shot.

Is that true btw?? Was KOC hired before Kwesi? Man...

The dude is just so trash haha. I mean he had Kyle Hamilton on the board, decided to trade down to draft Lewis Cine and Brian Asamoah. Oh and the team they traded down with was Detroit and used the 12th pick for Jameson Williams.

Kwesi was hired like 2 weeks before KOC. But the ownership group was very vocal about how they were going to make the decisions for both and that won’t be part of the job for the new GM.

Kwesi has been terrible at drafting, but last year he made up for it by being really good at free agency.

2022: Lewis Cine (waived), Andrew Booth (traded), Ed Ingram (traded), Brian Asamoah (waived)

2023: Jordan Addison, Mekhi Blackmon (traded)

2024: JJ McCarthy, Dallas Turner, Khyree Jackson (RIP)

I wanted to take a look myself. Outside of Addison, you're right, It's not great. In his first 2 drafts, they had a total of 16 picks, but only 4 remain on the roster.

It's kind of astonishing how many guys/picks they've traded.

Btw I totally forgot that Khyree Jackson was killed last year (rip). Auto accident. What a bummer.

Minnesota drafted that receiver out of USC. Solid pick up. And they picked up their future QB in Mccarthy. So that's a win-win. But...

aren't we light on corners as it is?

or is this about getting enough late round picks to convince carolina to give us adam theilen back?

Extremely light in the DB room. But that’s how bad Blackmon has been, he was basically viewed as just a special teams guy at this point.

With that said, I do think they’re hoping they can go with more late round picks to get Thielen, instead of having to give up a 4th round pick for him.

I’m a little surprised by this one. I’d like to see the Cowboys take a flyer on him.

I’m not. He doesn’t have any juice. He wasn’t even the best running back for Miami last year. He was a big name at OSU but he’s too bulky and can’t catch.

He was the 4th or 5th guy on the depth chart. That's how much depth they have at RB.

He also didn't look all that impressive during the preseason.

Walker, Charbonnet & George Holani are their top 3 RB's. All three guys have far more juice than Martinez. They also plan on carrying an extra fullback on the roster. So, there just wasn't a roster spot for him. But if he goes unclaimed then he'll certainly be on their practice squad.

Yup as of right now Addison has been the only good pick. And to be honest, that pick was kind of just handed to them. WR depth was a massive need and Addison was the last WR left with a 1st round grade and was the 4th straight WR taken at the time. So that was more of a, hey he’s the last one left, no one else to take.

But ya 4 drafts in, 3 starters (essentially 2 rookies so we don’t know how they will turn out). And 2 rotation guys in Nailor who is just flat out awful and only playing because we’ve had no WR depth and Turner who couldn’t beat out Patrick Jones last year.

This really is as bad of a start as you can get as a GM and drafting. And again none of this is mentioning the fact they had Kyle freaking Hamilton sitting there at 12. Decides to trade down to get a different safety, with a division rival, they get freaking Jameson Williams and we trade down to get Lewis Cine. That move alone will always having me wanting Kwesi fired

Yeah, he didn't look very explosive in camp. Not great on special teams either. That's why he didn't make the cut.

2022 was about as bad as you can get, but 2024 is still a lot of unknown. Everyone is still on the roster from 2024 (except Khyree of course), and obviously the success of McCarthy will be a huge part of how that draft is perceived.

I think this is a bit of an understatement. They could possibly go winless.
