That $10 mill is added to what he's already earned as an NFL backup, hope he's not in debt already, lol.

I explained in much greater detail later, but the problem isn't that you couldn't live off that money if you knew exactly what you were doing and planned on it to be the only money you will ever have. That would be relatively easy. The problem is fundamentally no one looks at the problem that way, and even decisions that don't seem extravagant in the moment end up being extravagant if this is the bulk of your career earnings.

Yea and he already in his post-signing pressor was talking about helping people from his town. Not the best thing when your still not secure beyond this contract just yet

Depends what he means by "helping". 10K here or there isn't going to make much of a dent. But he can't say yes to everyone, and I know that will be hard, and probably cause some hard feelings. I hope people in his hometown realize he's not Michael Jordan rich.

The final 2 WR's spots are going to be interesting. Tyler Scott has been pretty good in preseason, as has Jahdae. And then there's Miles Boykin- kind of an enigma why he's never established himself. 6'3", 230, runs a 4.42, former 3rd round pick. But he didn't stand out in any of the preseason games.

Going back to the missed block by Jones that cost the Bears a TD, Chase Daniels reviews another play where the media might blame pass protection, but it’s because Caleb didn’t read the defense pre snap, and got himself crushed. It’s anybody’s guess if Caleb will learn how to protect himself. He is responsible for avoiding many of the hits he takes, and the drives that stop because of basic mistakes at LOS that the quarterback has some responsibility for.

"the media" might blame pass protection? You yourself posted this clip a few days ago, as part of a post lambasting Braxton and his pass protection.

Sounds like this is going slightly beyond Deebo plays.

I wonder whether this is just making him Deebo-ish or also informed by the fact the Bears only have 2 healthy RBs as of today.

I kind of think Homer is the emergency back they will keep because ST. Maybe what you’re thinking, but instead of signing another RB, they may want to keep from cutting a young player and keep Keenam as long as possible to steady Caleb and Tyson. At least for the first part of the year

Bears vs KC was replayed on NFL network last night. I re-watched most of the 2nd half. Walker had three receptions on the final drive and nearly had a 4th but lost the ball when he hit the ground. What caught my eye was that he was also the one who made the special teams tackle on the kick-off following the Bears TD.

I could easily see Bears keeping him over T Scott. Also a bit weird as a viewer to see Freeman and J Wilson score TDs, knowing they were getting cut.

Yeah, depth at WR is outta this world this year. Scott vs. Jahdae vs. Olamide vs. Boykin might come down to the wire. Obviously, Boykin hasn't done a whole lot in preseason, so he's the most fringe and on the outs. But between the first three, it's could be anyone.

The Lions cut Dan Skipper. I wonder if the Bears take a look, given the need at tackle and the Ben Johnson connection.

zaccheaus is not even close to being on the roster bubble. he is by all appearances fully entrenched at WR3, even though it will block a talented second-round rookie receiver that the team is reportedly very high on.

tyler scott got cut so i would assume walker made the team

I wonder if Rosch will make the roster? I like him, but he can't stay healthy.

With Scott cut, it really shows how shallow the WR room was 2 seasons ago.
The gap between Moore, Mooney and Kmet vs everyone else was STEEP.

Clayfool? Gone - Did not play in 2024
VJJ? Gone - 3 games, 3 rushes for 11 yards and 1 catch for 8 yards in 2024
Scott? Gone - 11 games, 1 catch for 5 yards in 2024
Trent Taylor? (lol) Gone - O catches in 2023 with 1 rush for -1 yard, and in 2024 he played in 2 games with 1 catch for 11 yards.
ESB? Gone - 2 games, 0 catches in 2024

Zah Frazier to miss the 2025 season (personal reasons). He will be in team meetings, weight room and with medical staff, etc.

Feel bad for Scott- they never really utilized him, and now he's just caught in a numbers game. But glad for Jahdae Walker- that final drive v. the Chiefs got him on the roster.

That WR room was so bad 2 years ago. 100 %. Claypool was supposed to be a superior talent. He had many co-signers, including Ochocinco, but the problems with him appeared locker room related most of all. Either way, major swing and a miss there. VJJ never developed the hands we were praying for. Scott truly impressed me at different times and he might've been the best out of those five wideouts, but the talent drop off between him and anyone else you listed here, is like a damn avalanche. And we cut him. Oof.

For a team that often makes a point about character in their people (over strictly talent), they let problem people slip under the wire too often. They wasted a pick apparently. This is embarrassing. Credit to our staff though for figuring out why they **** this up.

He’ll be down for the year, but he’ll spend the time going to meetings, in the weight room and with the medical staff to prepare for next season to get ready to play. A bummer on the front end, but I think because of everyone’s hard work and care here we got him on the right path.”

I think Herbert makes a lot of sense for us honestly. If we go that route.
