So Varland our prized bullpen acquisition is ass apparently. Still regret missing out on the big names

The bullpen is going to blow this 2 run lead if the offense doesn't add more.

You are up 2 runs late.
Can't take out your elite defensive infielder.

I'm not against bringing Varsho to pinch hit for somebody else. But have to keep the elite defender in Gimenez in if you are ahead

It’s debatable but Varsho is an elite defender himself, the net gain there is massive anyway

This FO was never gonna spend the prospect capital to get a big name

The issue is continuing to pitch a struggling pitcher in high leverage

Varland in 51 games was lights out with the twins 2.02 era. Since he’s joined us in 9 games he’s a 5 + era. What the **** man.

Also, the 7 day IL is only for concussions.

Varland had no business pitching in high leverage, with his struggles.

Minnesota was probably a comfortable situation for Varland.
- From Minnesota.
- Before the deadline and all the trades Minnesota had a great pen, and he was progressing along in more middle leverage.
- May have had a good relationship with team / pitching coach.

Now he comes to Toronto, new situation away from home, immediately more important games and he is probably being used in higher leverage.

These are not excuses. He's not ready for this level of leverage right now. Perhaps next year.

Wish we went all in on Jhoan Duran unbelievable arm. Would've given up Arjun or Yesavage for him.

Rotation has the 3rd best ERA in baseball since the ASB (per last night's broadcast).
That's not too bad.

I think we’re doing okay without varsho right now

Update?

That’s the kind of arm that wins playoff games yeah but this FO doesn’t believe in going all out to raise our championship odds by a percentile
