It's a high level tournament when Luka Doncic is the third best player. Porzingis is ranked 6th. Queta is 9th.

Top 10 NBA players at 2025 EuroBasket

9. Neemias Queta, Portugal
2025-26 age: 26 | Boston Celtics

2024-25 estimated projections: minus-0.4 offense | plus-0.7 defense | plus-0.2 overall

Queta posted an impressive plus-4.6 RAPTOR in a very limited sample of 333 minutes (11.9 MPG) in 2023-24 but fell to minus-0.1 in an expanded role with 863 minutes in Boston's crowded center rotation last season. He didn't exactly have the same on-versus-off-court team efficiency split (plus-9.4 per 100 possessions) he had boasted a year before. Still, league-average NBA players don't exactly grow on trees, and this is a good chance for Queta to improve on a relatively high-level international stage.

That reminds me my new frame for Luka Doncic, as in, all the top players in their primes have now won a single title let's see who wins the 2nd/the most over their careers.

Ie, Jokic, Giannis, Sga, Tatum.

That article also list Moussa Diabaté among the players to watch which is going to be hard to do considering he was cut from the final roster and even refused to came back after Poirier's injury opened up a spot in the frontcourt. In case anybody was wondering what the journalistic standards are at ESPN these days and whether that article means anything. Not even touching the fact that Coulibaly, Risacher and Sarr where all much better choices to begin with.

Queta with a strong first half in the Eurobasket opener vs Czechia. to this point he's got 15 points on 7/8 in 14 minutes, with 6 rebs, 3 blocks and an assist. He started the game by popping out and hitting a 3 from above the key, and ended the half making a jumper. Portugal leads 32-29 halfway through.

Great game for Queta. 23 points on 11/15, 1/1 from three in a bit over 30 minutes, with 18 rebs, 4 blocks, 2 steals, and 1 assist. He was +21 in his time on the floor. Portugal won 62-50.

He's way ramped up his minutes from the warm-up games.

Serbia coming up next. I heard they had a good player.
Also In the same group with Latvia (Porzingis), Turkey (Alperen Şengün),
Queta will go against some good teams here.
It would be surprising if Portugal gets out of the group though.

Game highlights vs Czechia
3 pointer, soft touch around the basket, pure power. I like the development

Portugal can advance. They just have to finish top 4 in the group of 6. If they beat Estonia that should be enough. But a higher finish than 4th in the group would be better for seeding purposes. To do that they have to win against someone really good.

If this translates and Queta is good this year, then the Celtics are pretty good too.

Kessler averaged 12rpg last season.

I see know reason why Neems can't match that if he's given 30mpg.

Porzingis and Al averaged 13rpg combined last season.

The rebounding issue will be the obvious subtraction of JT. I think JB and White can pick up a little of that slack.

Portugal plays Porzingis and Latvia on Monday. They play Sengun and Turkey on Saturday.

Bobby Krivitsky‬

Kristaps Porzingis today at EuroBasket:

10 points (3/12)
4 rebounds
6 turnovers
4 fouls

An unfortunate showing as he finally got to represent Latvia, who was playing at home.

Alperun Sengun (16/8/7), Cedi Osman (20), and Shane Larkin (15 points & 6 rebounds) led Turkey to a 93-73 win.

Queta is far and away the biggest X factor for the Celtics this year. Today’s news is very encouraging! Love the development he’s showing.

extended highlights.

Happy to see Queta playing well. I'm pulling for Queta and Garza to play well this season.
