I think Arsenal can get something at Anfield.
Liverpool doesn't look good defensively.

Newcastle with 90% of the possession in the last 5 mins, with 10 men. That's nuts.
Even after they tied it they played like lightning was going to strike a third time.
On the game-winning goal there were 4 Liverpool players advancing below the box to just 3 white shirts.
Too overzealous trying to win the ball back and advance to the other end. Should have been content with the draw by the 96th minute or so,

Certainly issues to be worked on, however, this match, much like that against Bournemouth, were always going to be more difficult due to the circumstances. Today, it was a hostile environment due to the Isak situation. I was merely hoping to come out unscathed from an injury perspective, but the cherry on top is the points.

The downgrade from Macca to Curtis is immense. Rio is the real deal, what a finish!
It's time for 5 refs.

Getting the 3 points when you play poorly is the mark of champions, or so they say, unless it's Arsenal winning at OT, then its just playing poorly.

United's ownership need to seriously look at Amorim at this point.
His PPG is worse than Gary Neville at Valencia, and they're now out of the League Cup to L2 Grimsby, before the top Premier League teams even appear in the competition.

I get Amorim had excuses last year. Now he had full pre season and players he got to fit his system. And so far I can tell it sucks big time.
Generally good coaches adopt and switch systems to a players and strength they have and not the other way around. I have a feeling he will be out before Christmas.

Whatever you need to tell yourself to fall asleep at night.
I'm not sure what else I can add at this point. Grimsby Town -- a team from England's fourth tier.

The joke is this manager was happy not to make CL. He didn't want that many games. After tonight, he has even less.
On a more serious note, you honestly think this is still just the players. Open your eyes.
Amorim played his usual back five against a League Two team. He is incapable of adjusting. That is a huge red flag.
I'm not a Manchester United fan, but I can see this squad is best set up to play 4-3-3, which includes the additions of Cunha and Mbeumo. At least it would allow Bruno to play his actual position.
And remember, after losing at home to Arsenal, he stated this team proved it can beat anyone...

Of course the coach deserves blame as well. I am not misled, but i see those players on the pitch, it isnt there.Baseline81 wrote:Wisky4life wrote:Its called a joke, man lighten up.

Man the PL grinds through managers.
You have managers who flash promise and then are hired by PL clubs but they have less than a season to produce or they're out.
What are the salaries and contract terms like? Is it anything like the NBA where coaches are getting $5-10 million a year and typically get 4 or 5 year contracts and if the team is forced to fire him, they're liable for the full $20-50 million?

Exactly. If anything he wasted Garnacho, Hojlund and Mainoo - well because they do not fit his system lol.
