He's talking specifically about receivers. Watson ACL. Doubs is a concussion away from retirement. And now Reed with a pretty significant injury. That's not LOL. Of course we understand injuries are part of the game. JFC. And I don't give a crap about other teams.

I only say that because I'm a former college player (a long time ago) I understand little bit what they go through and I just wouldn't dare say something like that. Most of us wouldn't even survive a week of training camp in their shoes. I understand it's frustrating and I wished these guys would be on the field but it's the reality of the sport. I just have a profound respect for those who lace em up at this level, it takes a different breed to have a career in the NFL.

What position did you play?

Receiver. Went through training camps with 2 a days and even 3 a days a particular year. You come back home exhausted knowing you have to get back at it early the following day. Your body wants a break but you have to push through, it's tough.

Well, I didn't intend for it to be a shot at those guys but they all have been injured quite a bit. It stinks

Jayden Reed has Jones fracture in left foot
https://www.rotoballer.com/player-news/jayden-reed-dealing-with-jones-fracture-in-left-foot/1678071

“According to Jason Wilde, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot) has been diagnosed with a Jones fracture. While this type of fracture is common in athletics, it typically requires surgery. However, the Packers wideout has "no interest" in this extended timeline and plans to play through the injury.”

Hence the walking boot.

Woof. Be smart - get the surgery and be ready for the back-half of the season.

That's what I said. Without surgery you're feeling pain all year and can cause more damage. He's so young still, take the surgery and come back with 5-6 games left.

I have no clue how one is even able to "play through" a Jones fracture. Officially worried about the WR depth now. Reed likely not 100% at any point this season, Doubs being a concussion away from retirement, Savion Williams missing all of preseason, etc. I think Golden's the real deal, but hopefully Watson comes back sooner rather than later because I really don't wanna be relying so much on Wicks and Malik Heath.

I understood what you meant and knew you were mostly talking as a fan of the Packers, no harm no foul. Obviously we want all of our guys to be playing and healthy. I just wrote that because it's a pet peeve of mine when I see comments like that. It takes me back to my playing days and I feel for those guys. Like Marshawn Lloyd's situation, I read a lot of people saying he's made of paper or glass like you said or that they've given up on him, I'm like geez I hope people in your life don't give up on you when it's tough for you. I have an idea of how hard these guys work to get there. Nobody is more down right now than these guys.

Playing through a Jones fracture seems incredibly dumb from Reed's perspective

If I am reading this right -- its about a 6-8 week recovery time for minor fracture. If he got surgery ASAP -- that puts him back around Steelers week 8/pathers week 9.. rather he just sit the first 4-5 games, the we get both he and watson back around same time.

Going to need to rely on a lot of 12 personnel until some of these wideouts get healthy. Kraft and Musgrave are finally healthy at the same time (knocks on wood).

According to the National Institutes of Health’s research into Jones fracture surgery in the NFL, there was a “decrease in performance by 46.3%” by those returning to the field in less than 10 weeks after surgery.

We'll see what happens without surgery.

If Musgrave stays healthy we’re probably going to see a lot of two TE sets. Maybe even split him out to the slot and go with Kraft and Sims on the line.

I've kept my opinion quiet on the Micah Parsons stuff because I don't think it'll happen. But my thoughts are that I'd do it, but I don't think it's the slam dunk everyone thinks it is.
Ultimately, players of his capability, age, and positional value don't come around very often which is why I'd do it. BUT, I'm not really a fan of giving up picks and paying a market value contract. The Packers would almost certainly lose from a value standpoint. Green Bay would likely have to cut Elgton & Kenny next year(possible already), & would be unlikely to re-sign any of Watson, Rhyan, Rasheed, Doubs, or Quay. Now maybe they could get one or even two of those guys back if they kicked the can down the road enough but then that would also hamper our ability to retain guys like Kraft, Cooper, etc. when they come due. On top of that they'd lose out on several premium picks to replace all those guys with which would really hurt from a depth standpoint.

Again, I would do it because it's Micah Parsons. But there is downside to pulling something like that off

I don't think of those guys are really all that big a loss if and when they're not brought back. Kenny's been overpaid for years, and even Jenkins has seen his play drop off. Watson and Doubs weren't going to be back anyway and Rhyan is just a guy. Writing's been on the wall for two years with Morgan being drafted in the first.

You guys know how much I love college football and the draft, but I can't really make a good argument against trading a couple firsts for Parsons. We're the youngest team in the league (again) and the biggest need is a legit star pass rusher.

Individually I agree none are a huge loss. Collectively though that would be a lot of depth to lose with no premium picks or money to replace them. Again not saying I wouldn't do it, but it would certainly hurt other areas

Like how would we feel if in 2026 our starting DTs are Devonte Wyatt & Karl Brooks, our ILBs are Edge Cooper & Isaiah Mcduffie, and our starting OL is Morgan/Banks/Monk/Belton/Tom with only day 3 guys as depth. Those would all be pretty big areas of concern and no real way to improve on them

Of course there's risks in giving up lucrative draft capital on top of paying Parsons top-of-market contract value. But if a 26-year old generational Edge/pass-rusher isn't the player to do it for, then that player doesn't exist.

Which is why I said I'd do it. Just I don't think its a slam dunk
