On passing down? For sure. Some people here think that LVN should move inside permanently, he's not a DT.

Yeah - was thinking that 3rd down pass rush specifically. Probably could've been more clear on my initial thought/post

Boy packers werent great agsinst the run last year with clark im thinking hope im wrong they might be worse withoit him.
Question going from the dome n turf to grass you all think its possible parsons loses a step or 2 on a slower surface which woukd benefit the oline better in blocking him.Have always read that going from turf to grass slows down a evmdge rusher

IMO we never had the front seven play to be true contenders. Parsons changes that dynamic. Not just his addition but he'll make others around him better.

Eh, your guy Bill Simmons had us at 12-5 and making the Super Bowl in his annual NFC over/unders that just posted a few days ago. This team was already very good, Tier 1 type contenders.

He's been pretty low on them all offseason, like basically a boring 10 win team. Was surprised he said that and also annoyed b/c last time he said that I think we missed the playoffs.

Wyatt's an elite pass-rushing DT, but this is Year 3 for Colby Wooden and he needs to start showing something. Maybe Stackhouse or Brinson are legit, but relying on a 6th round pick and a UDFA to immediately come in as rookies and be your run defense anchors is a pretty tall task.

Earlier this year, I had lunch with a longtime friend who is a huge Lions fan. At the time, there were various rumors about Chase and Higgins and Garrett floating out there, and I was big on the Packers going all-in for Chase or Garrett.

Anyway, that led to a convo about who we would add to our respective teams if we could pick any player in football. He said Mahomes. I said Parsons. I made some comment in passing about how he was going into the final year of his deal but we both laughed it off and said there was no way the Cowboys would let him go.

Look at us now. He texted me yesterday saying "WTF." Can't wait for Week 1.

I know the age difference is huge, but I am tempering my expectations after the Dame trade.

A lot of money going to Parsons but I don't see a lot of tough decisions for the roster next off-season. Quay, Enagbare, Doubs, Rhyan, Rasheed and Watson are the notable players expiring. Am I crazy for thinking it'd be fine to let most of them walk?

I think letting most of them walk is fine. The one hang up I have is the OL. Jenkins is likely getting cut since the Packers would save $20 million on the cap by doing so. With no free agency money the Packers are likely going to have to find a way to retain one of Rhyan, Rasheed, or Jenkins just to put out a decent starting 5(that assumes Belton will be ready to start) and that leaves them no depth behind those 5. Is guess we draft 2 or 3 OL next year
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Can't take 1. Although it's not officially retired it's considered off limits for Curly Lambeau. No one else has ever worn #1.

Curly Lambeau's Green Bay Packers uniform numbers included #1 (in 1925-1926), #14 (1927), #42 (1928), and #20 (1929). Although not officially retired, the Packers have unofficially retired number 1 in recognition of their founder, naming the stadium after him instead of retiring the jersey.

So many people comparing this to the Khalil Mack trade....they fail to see the Bears almost made the Superbowl with Mack....and a QB/coach of Tribusky and Nagy. They missed going to NFC championship because their kicker double doinked a 43 yard fg. Horrible roster and mack still almost carried that defense to the NFC championship and possibly Superbowl. That wasn't a failed trade.

Sounds like the cap hit can be spread out over 5 years and not 4. So the AAV is actually only a little bit more than Myles Garrett and TJ Watt

Mack was also 1-2 years older and I'll say it.....wasn't as good of a player as Parsons. I'm already seeing all the cope from the other division fanbases ("they ruined their salary cap hurr durr"), but it still appears to have not clicked with people that he's like, a 1-of-1 type generational defensive disruptor. Nobody batted an eye when the Raiders traded Mack because everyone agreed they got great value for him. The reaction is different with Parsons because guys like him never get traded this early in their prime.

24 hours ago I thought only Quay and "maybe" Watson would be back from that group so it really just means we're not going to be dabbling in FA and getting comp picks in 2 years

That's great news. I was wondering if we gave him a four year extension and still have him for five years or this contract meant we only have him for four years. So we have him for five years, his prime years. That's crazy.

Without a first round pick for two years we can't let them all walk. As for Watson and Doubs, that depends on Golden/Savion. I'm more worried about Kraft and Reed when they hit free agency than any of these players.

2 of them we've allready invested high draft capital in their replacements (3 if you consider Golden a replacement) and just traded for 1 that's going to significantly reduce the playing time of another 2.
