Packers were actually one of the top teams vs the run all year (3rd in avg vs run).

As for Micah if Cooper, who's not as good as an athlete as Micah, is not bothered by it then Micah will be just fine.

Imagine those Hafley pass rush sets last year where we loaded up on one side with blitzers so Gary couldn't get doubled/chipped. Now, have Parsons on that side instead, while on the other side you've got Gary and Cooper ready to pin their ears back. It's gonna be a bloodbath.

I do wonder if the Packers would have done the draft differently if they knew they'd land Parsons. All of a sudden you have Enagbare, Cox, Sorrell, & Oliver as your pass rushers 4-7. Those guys aren't going to get many snaps unless injury occurs.

Anyone hear Herbstreit's take on the deal? Basically says the Cowboys did the right thing in trading Micah because his contract dispute was a problem for the locker room and trading him served the greater good.

I don't dislike Herbie. But this is why he shouldn't comment on professional football. This isn't a college campus. I'm sure that if you polled the Cowboys locker room, the vast supermajority would have been unhappy with losing arguably their best player. They're grown men who get that it's a business and I'm sure most of them understood why Micah was holding in. If anything, trading him will frustrate those guys who want to compete for titles.

Yep, which makes a lot more sense. Still sets a new record for a non QB but isnt a 15% jump like initially reported

This really jumped out at me in Barnwell's analysis.

Over the past four years, the Cowboys were the league's best defense with Parsons on the field by EPA per play. Across 1,039 snaps, those same Cowboys immediately became the league's worst defense by the same metric when Parsons was on the sideline or inactive. Acknowledging that every team is going to get worse when its best player isn't playing, I'm not sure anything I can tell you is going to be more instructive than those figures. The best defense in the league with Micah Parsons ... and the worst defense in the league without him.

This also jumped out at me.

Since 2021, Parsons has had a 30% pass rush win rate (meaning he beat his blocker within 2.5 seconds 30% of the time). That blows every other player out of the water, including Myles Garrett, who was second at 26%. Parsons' 310 pass rush wins also leads the league in that span. He ranks second in pressures with 251 (five behind Maxx Crosby).

The Packers were not good when they rushed only 4 last year. Parsons alone could fix that.
