You have managers who flash promise and then are hired by PL clubs but they have less than a season to produce or they're out.

What are the salaries and contract terms like? Is it anything like the NBA where coaches are getting $5-10 million a year and typically get 4 or 5 year contracts and if the team is forced to fire him, they're liable for the full $20-50 million?

Tell me who and what Amorim has improved since arriving? I'm all ears.

I'm not necessarily saying that they shouldn't move on from him.

But he's not the first guy who achieves in other leagues and then if he doesn't instantly turn around a PL club, he's gone.

Hey but if the clubs don't mind paying them or maybe the PL manager contracts don't impose penalties for firing them early.

I think the mediocrity running the club would rather pay out their contract so they can use the coaches as scapegoats for their own shortcomings.
It's the culture at that club that needs fixing, they've been signing capable players and coaches

Agree the culture needs fixing. But that's an "as well" and not the sole problem.

Mark Goldbridge on his YouTube channel singles out the players, however, his argument is flawed in that the majority of the players given time on the pitch are from the Ten Hag era or newer. Correct me if I'm wrong, but only Bruno, Maguire, Shaw, and Dalot were brought on prior to Ten Hag. Obviously, I am leaving out the likes of Rashford and Sancho as Amorim has told them to find another club.

The point is the rot at Manchester United started long before Ten Hag. And many of those players then have been moved on.

It's a combination of poor recruitment and management. The tweet below is damning, to say the least.

Unfortunate this matchup has to happen this early into the season.

Everyone, not just Arsenal and Liverpool fans, would prefer to see both clubs healthy and running on all cylinders.

As to my thoughts, I, too, would settle for a point.

Only saving grace for me is that no matter the result.. we get Anfield out of the way early before you've kicked into gear and don't have Isak yet :D

I've been a supporter of VAR since its inception, and will continue, but something has to change.

PGMOL can spout improved percentages until their blue in the face. The fact is their record in decisive moments is shaky at best.

Unbelievably shocking performance by Spurs here. Very fortunate to only be losing 0-1 to Bournemouth. Going from beating City at their ground to this, some things never change. Big credit to Iraola and Bournemouth though, superb performance from them.

Lots of work still to be done for Frank.

Semenyo will probably get a big money move in the coming seasons. Superb player.

Manchester had like 30 shots today, rollar coaster season incoming.

Great win but it a heart attack match.

As expected... again, it's not the system but those operating it that are the issue.

Note I understand someone had to take the blame, however, shouldn't the on-field ref also be punished? If I recall correctly, he went to the monitor and decided to rule out the goal.

Brighton have just clowned City here. City take the lead, dominate for about an hour, give away a dumb penalty, and all of the momentum shifts to Brighton. They've just taken the lead just before stoppage time.

What a goal by Brighton, that's like an NBA fast break.

Weird first half.
Seems like Arsenal control the game, but both teams look really afraid to take any kind of risks in attack while playing extremely risky football at the back.
Martinelli not challenging Szobo is borderline criminal.
