Tbf he's a midwest guy. He's from Sioux Falls. The key for him always was hiring the right DC.

Wasn't he at Fresno before Washington? For a long time he has been running gimmick offenses that don't do well out east

It should change soon, west coast teams in big ten will start building their teams like big ten teams to avoid last year's poor results.

2 years at Fresno, 2 at UW. But prior to that he was at Indiana (OC), Eastern Michigan (OC) & Sioux Falls.

College sports have come down to 2 things

1. NIL
2. Quality of Coach. You need both things to be a top tier program in either college football or basketball.

Bama no longer has Saban and now they look just like any other normal power conference team

You gotta be able to recruit well. Bill is in his 70's. Even if he builds a decent program, it's not like he'll be around for very long.

I dont think Bill can build a playoff program or anything but with enough recruiting they should at least be watchable. Kinda like Colorado, Deion is a crap coach but because of his recruiting power and media savy they are not a 3-4 win program anymore which I bet most of their fans appreciate.
