If we can finish the season .500 (14-14), it forces the Yankees to go 20-9 to close the season. Even against a soft schedule that is not that easy to accomplish. Especially now that there are 28 man roster rules in September instead of the old 40 man roster rules.

If we get to 92 wins, its certainly not a lock that we win the division, but its more likely than not.

Is there really a clear favourite to win the ALCS? No clear team ahead of the rest.

Odds to win the AL East as of this morning
Toronto -275
New York +350
Boston +450

Lol Orioles are a joke. They couldn't score with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs to take the lead. Yesterday blew their lead in the 9th. Could've been a series split and now could get swept

Orioles are the stupidest team I’ve ever seen, Red Sox 3.5 back

The collapse is on?

NYY up 10-1 as they move within 3 games of us. They’re also now +80 better as well.

The collapse is well and truly on.

It very well might be but we still control our destiny by playing these teams. That can definitely exacerbate the collapse but going 2-1 vs the yankees, houston, boston could go a long way, even if it doesn't necessarily secure the division. Hopefully we can split one of the next two against the mariners and get hot again.

Remember how hectic 2011 was? That was with only 8 playoffs teams.

Boston loses back to back to Pittsburgh
Yanks about to go to extras against the White Sox (or possibly will lose it in the bottom of the ninth)

White Sox bases loaded with 1 out. Inches from winning on a foul ball down the line, and miracle block by the catcher preventing a pass ball.
Almost impossible for them to lose this game. Unbelievable.
Is anybody here a marine biologist?

NYY about to win 7 straight, 2 back.

The collapse is almost complete.

That was unsurprising.

We probably should have beaten the White Sox ourselves when we had the chance instead of throwing a game away with a punt lineup.

Keep telling myself....

...if was told at beginning of season that the Jays will have a 3 game lead in the division, 2nd best record in AL, and 3rd best in baseball on Sept 1st, we would be ecstatic.

Yes hard to he optimistic with the way they have been playing lately, but still playing above expected level overall.

Yankees winning 6 of 7 against the Nationals and White Sox was somewhat expected, but their next 12 games are against AL playoff teams that they have struggled mightily against; so far they are 2-8 vs BOS, 3-7 vs TOR and 2-4 vs DET/HOU which works out to a ~30% winning percentage. They've been playing better lately against poor competition, but I'd be surprised if they finished that stretch with more than 5 or 6 wins. And with the H2H tiebreaker against the Yankees and Red Sox both clinched, we're essentially still 4 games up on both of them with 25 to go. I still think 92 wins keeps us at the top of the division.

I just received my invitation in the mail to secure Jays playoff tickets. All I need to do is commit to Home Plate Terrace Club seats for 2026.

Prices for a pair of seats 'start' at $39,760. LOL

would this be a potential mismanagement of the roster. the way this team has been going, they need the help whereever they can find it.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.
