I'm interested to see how Milwaukee handles their roster. They have 15 players on standard contracts already. Andre Jackson Jr's deal is $800K guaranteed and becomes fully guaranteed opening night. Amir Coffey is on a camp deal.

Everyone else is on a fully guaranteed contract.

To keep both Coffey (unclear where things stand there) and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Bucks will have to shed two players. That will include at least one fully guaranteed contract.

I think Jackson is very much an NBA player, so someone could snag a good player on waivers or via trade.

Idk if we could even make an official signing without that happening first.

Then if we want to keep Coffey (significant if now) we probably give away Tyler Smith or do a 2 for 1 with him + Kuzma.

AJ Green and Giannis are the only other tradeable guys on our roster at the moment.

To appease short-sighted children who can't get over the emotion of having Kuz on the roster another day cuz of last anomalous season & need to show the corporate media a starting 5 w/ a standard 3 so they can't make low 40's win projections? Yes, let's offload a proven winner here for that.

They delayed Ajax's guarantee date for seemingly this exact event & Coffey is an actual major on court albatross consistently, like Kuzma was just last season. It was Kuzma's 1st near double digit negative on-off. Coffey's done it 3 straight years. Got to make room for him!

Actually the Bucks might not have needed to open a spot before officially signing TA.

Timing could have more to do with the front office’s trip to Greece than anything:

In the offseason, NBA teams can carry up to 21 players on their roster, three of which can be two way contracts. Milwaukee currently has those three spots filled, plus 15 guaranteed contracts, one partially guaranteed contract (Ajax), and one non-guaranteed training camp contract (Coffey). That’s 20, so they presently have only one roster vacancy. By Opening Night, they’ll need to whittle their standard roster down to 15 players, plus the three two-ways.

This is not worth getting bent out of shape over, even if one can reasonably principally disagree on the decision to have a 15th man cheerleader & Giannis recruiting tool. None of Ajax, Livingston, Coffey, nor TA are making a discernible difference in our outlook.
