Lions Lead Up - Monday Everyone Practices but Hobbs/Jenkins
9/7/25 - 3:25 - CBS
We'll try to focus this thread on the upcoming game.
Tough 1-2 punch to open the season but we are at home.
John Morton and Kelvin Shepherd take over from Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn as coordinators.
Morton has been an assistant with many teams, most recently as passing coordinator with Denver. Shepherd steps up from Lions linebackers coach.
Parsons is expected to play but it's unknown how much. It's doubtful he plays a full game as he ramps up getting into game shape. And game 2 is 4 days later.
Monitoring the Reed injury will be interesting. He's needed.
The crowd is going to be amped. You can be sure the defense will be announced coming out of the tunnel.
The early forecast is 65 and sunny.

Re: Lions Lead Up
Hopefully this isn’t a gold package game. Be nice to have more Packers fans than Lions fans

Gold package games this year are Commanders & Eagles
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Re: Lions Lead Up
Always the second and fifth home games. I have gold package but have been to many green games. The amount of opposing fans is more dependant on who the opponent is than which package. Milwaukee games ended over 30 years ago. There is one waiting list. Eventually I was asked to make a decision, gold package I would get in a year or two or green package that would take "many" more years. I jumped on gold.
Green are just as likely to sell tickets, especially since they get cold games. With only 2 games and no cold games, gold isn't more likely to sell even if they have to drive a bit. All of the regulars who sit near me are within a half hour.
Lambeau is a popular destination for opposing fans. Bucket list for many. They'll pay whatever it takes.

Yep, I've always found the complaints.about the gold package to be overblown. I've been to numerous games of both and don't really notice a difference in crowd noise or likelihood to sell

Re: Lions Lead Up
The Packers are also cracking down on accounts that sell tickets. They won't release the criteria but if you sell a certain percentage of tickets within a certain time frame they can pull them. In the terms and conditions of season tickets they can terminate you at any time for any reason. A private sale where you simply transfer your ticket can't be tracked. But if you sell online it is tracked. I get a preseason game every other year and I usually sell that.
The quality of home opponents this year (Commanders, Bengals, Ravens, Eagles, Lions, Vikings, Bears) is incredible. Only the Panthers are a bad game.
Anyway, this will be a tough test. Lions are good. New coordinators matter but maybe they are just as good.
Should be fun.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Just because he said he wants to play doesn't mean he will. He flew back to Dallas after the presser and returned today. He's meeting with Hafley. The team has had off the past few days, they resume practice tomorrow.
“I think I can contribute a lot,” Parsons said. “I’m going to team up with the doctors in creating a plan. We already talked about how we can ramp things up and get me into a flow where they feel comfortable and I feel comfortable. … They didn’t give up what they gave up for me to sit on the sidelines and make this big of a risk and change for me to do that, so I’m going to give them my all.”
Parsons said he’ll meet with defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley when he returns to Green Bay on Sunday to map out what the next six days before game day look like.
“He says he’s got a lot planned for me,” Parsons said. “I don’t know what the scheme looks like. I just got my iPad today. I’m going to look over it. I’m super excited. I know about his creativity. I’ve heard a lot. Obviously, I don’t watch their defense a lot, but I’m excited to learn. I’m excited to get better and be a dominant player for them.”
Coach Matt LaFleur approached the topic of Parsons’ Week 1 participation with slightly more caution.
“We’ve got to see where he’s at,” LaFleur said. “I don’t believe he’s practiced, so we’ve got to be very calculated with how we deploy him and just the number of snaps that he’s going to get. The first part of that is you’ve got to assess the situation, and in order to do that, you’ve got to have some sort of physical movement … it’s gonna be a lot of time spent together, I would say, and a lot of one-on-one time to try to get him up to speed as quickly as possible. But I think more than anything else, I’m confident that will happen quickly — we just gotta see where he’s at physically before we put him out there and he’s playing 70 snaps a game.”

Re: Lions Lead Up
Yea, these first two games they have to be very careful with Parsons. If anything only play him on pass rush specific downs(3rd & long).

Re: Lions Lead Up
Is anyone likely to be out for injury? I know Reed, Wicks, Banks, McKinney, Hobbs all had stuff but haven’t heard of week one status on them.
Outside of that, I’ll be really watching to see who earns reps inside on the DL after Wyatt. The group of Brooks, Wooden, Stackhouse and Brinson- I know they’ll likely rotate but what’s the pecking order there?

Re: Lions Lead Up
I wouldn’t be surprised if the offense looks kind of rough in this one. Just so many injuries and instability all offseason.

Injury reports are released Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. We'll have a good idea by who practices.

Seems leaked by Dallas to drown out the - HORRIBLE MOVE narrative. Obviously, be smart in ramping up his efforts, but I'm not sweating this.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.
