I've often thought that, but he'd probably want to be here if we didn't have Brunson. I doubt he wants to play 15 minutes/game as the backup.

That's what was coming out of his camp. I think the idea was they wanted him to come over in the year they signed JB, but there was a guard gut, so his reps felt he wasn't going to get playing time. Then he came over last Summer league and we still had the guard gut (team still had DDV, Bridges, etc.). I was high on Rojas, but I don't remember if I thought he'd come over for sure or if he was a Euro player all the way.

Honestly, I don't think he's coming over the NBA. Once the Knicks got JB, it was a wrap for him. I kind of wonder if the Knicks shot themselves in the foot by signing Cam instead of looking at Rojas as their backup. I mean, he did come over for Summer league.

Judging from his interviews, it's not about him wanting to be a starting point guard in the NBA. It's rather him not wanting to waste years of his career rotting on the bench collecting DNPs. I understand why the Knicks don't want to give him any assurances of playing time, even if its 8-12 mpg. But I understand it from Rokas point of view as well. It's a big risk just to get front row seats to every Knicks game. Especially after seeing some of the recent examples of Euroleague star PGs failing to transition to the league (Teodosic, Campazzo, Micic).

This is absolutely true. With that said, if he had come a few years ago we'd probably be slotting him in anywhere from the 1-3 for 25-30 minutes this year if he showed anything, similar to what's happened with Deuce. If he had come last year, for example, we wouldn't have needed to go for Clarkson. We've needed a secondary playmaker in the lineup like crazy and he and Deuce in theory would pair well. It was a risk but one that could have led to a nice NBA career.

With each passing year, that initial stint of DNPs that he'd have to overcome becomes more problematic for all parties.

Jokubaitis with the career game just now. 21 pts and 12 ast in 22 minutes vs Vucevic & Montenegro.

Could the Knicks get anything in trade for his rights at this point? If his stock rises from the Euro Cup. Feels like the ship has sailed as a Knick but he could help some NBA team

Maybe he could fetch a 2nd rounder. Hard to say though. These rights to NBA-unproven guys in their mid twenties usually don't have much of a market value.

I know there was some excitement around his combine performance a couple years ago. I believe he played with Kolek in college for a couple years. Not sure if he is worth a look. He may not be any more ready to contribute than the Diawara will be anyway. His numbers are unimpressive in limited minutes but I need someone to watch these 17 minutes of highlights likely from garbage time and tell me if he has any potential :D

They got good reasoning it seem

Kyrie Irving will miss most, if not all, of the coming season due to a torn ACL, which has Dallas wanting to bring in some point guard depth behind D'Angelo Russell. Specifically, the Mavericks plan to re-sign Dante Exum, who has been with the team for a couple of seasons but is now a free agent.

To make that happen, the Mavericks are waiving and stretching 2023 first-round pick Olivier-Maxence Prosper, a story broken by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

This was not a surprise. Dallas is hard-capped at the second apron and was within $1.5 million of that line, it needed to clear cap space to sign Exum, even to a veteran minimum contract. The team had tried to trade Prosper, but other teams wanted a second-round pick attached to take on his $3 million contract. Dallas could create enough space to sign Exum by waiving and stretching Prosper, spreading his $3 million over three seasons on the books.

Once Prosper clears waivers, expect the Mavericks to announce the deal with Exum.

Prosper becomes a free agent and has shown enough flashes in Dallas to garner interest from other NBA teams.

Yabusele tied for most minutes with 25, but only scored 7 points. Doncic played 35 mins and had 38 points, but little support from his team. Yabu played well, but just didn't score a lot

In today's game, France lost to Israel 82 - 69. Yabu played 28 minutes with 7 points (most minutes - maybe Thibs is coaching France?). Avdija was high scorer for Israel with 23.

Jokubastard!

Why do we always seem to have a Euro guard with potential that never becomes a Knick?

Ognjen Jaramaz
Rokas Jokubaitis

It's the damn PRONUNCIATION clause in the contracts - gotta be someone whose name the announcers can pronounce to play here@!

Deni's a legit baller now. He leaves Wa-shttshow-ington and in less than one year he's putting up all star numbers. Look at what he was doing down the stretch.

Jeremy Lin officially retires from the NBA? GA in shambles...

Linsanity was hella fun during a time where things felt stagnant up until then. It was a much needed jolt to the team. I remember Breen being unable to contain his laughter as he kept scoring and scoring during that first great game he had when it all started. There was something about it that seemed impossible even while you were actually seeing it. Fun times
