Guessing we see a bunch of 3 safety looks with Hobbs looking like he won't play. Secondary gets a pretty massive test right off the bat.

Beyond frustrating that Green Bay does as little as anyone as far as preseason reps yet we see them hobbled coming into game 1. An average injury report from week to week would make this team elite.

Hobbs probably wouldn't be hurt if he didn't throw himself at his teammates over and over again to start TC. LaFleur was really pissed off about that.

Interior DL is the biggest concern imo. If we stop the run we can unleash Micah and the secondary will be better for it. Their whole offense is predicated on running the ball so we'll see how Hafley plans to stop them with only Stackhouse as our only big DT.

I'm skeptical that this is the guy to replace Jaire. I understand this is a tough game, injuries will happen but man that's not a good track record. Hope I'm wrong!

He was never brought in to replace Jaire. They wanted to improve at Nickel, that's why he's here.

Either way we signed a corner to 4/48 who missed more than four games a season for three years straight after dealing with a corner who also missed a bunch of time over the past four years. Then Hobbs suffers another injury and needs another surgery in preseason, kind of irritating. Again, don't need the riot act on how tough the NFL is, we all know that but it would've been nice to acquire a corner who didn't have a history of missing games every year. Of course those guys (i.e. DJ Reed, Byron Murphy) would've cost more money so this isn't a knock on Gute just an annoyance as a fan.

I've been a skeptic/critic of the Hobbs signing since it happened, so no, I don't buy this idea that he was brought in just to shore up the nickel corner position. You don't go out in free agency and drop that kind of money on just an "ok" slot guy. If he can't play the boundary, then it was always a bad investment.

You're right but If he can stay healthy it's a great pickup imo. We got killed there last year more at Nickel than on the corner spots. So if he can stay healthy the main concern for the season will be the NT position. I think we need one more big ugly.

Regardless of exact position it was Jaire out, Hobbs in. We drafted one DB in the 7th round and he's on the practice squad. Bo converted.
