Yeah, definitely. Think if I was actually posting it, I’d say Indy gets both 2026 firsts (likely Phoenix and Memphis) and Orlando’s 2030 first?
With Aldama, Clarke, Konchar coming back, and then 3 2026 1st round picks, Indy would have 17 guys for 15 roster spots in 2026, before dealing with Mathurin. I think any Siakam for volume returns are pretty tough for an Indy team that has really focused on building depth?
Two of those 17 would need to be included in this trade since Indy is at 15 roster spots this season.
I assumed Wiseman/Bradley would be those guys, and they both expire, so they wouldn’t shorten the 17 from next year, as they’re already not on next years roster.
Who those two are, and if they call for additional value - I do not know.. I see guys like Wiseman, Bradley, Kam that shouldn’t really kill a deal that large. Even if Indy has to buy 1-2 guys out, they’re still saving a lot of money this season and next season.
Indy just traded up to get Kam in the early 2nd. I think they’d like to see him, especially as they got him to take a below minimum salary for the next couple years? Bradley/Wiseman, obviously can go, but again, don’t help the long term roster spots.
But, saving the money isn’t that important anymore? Especially not as they’re not saving much? Aldama, Clarke, Konchar are owed similar money this year and next?
Or if preferred, Indy and Memphis can find the 3rd team to take 1-2 of Konchar/Clarke as cheap as possible to start correcting the roster crunch.
Then for having more picks than roster spots.. Could tell Memphis you want the 2027 Mem first instead of 2026.. or trade up/out.
I just think there needs to be more of a primary need or reason for Indy to do this? Indy always seems to value a KEY PIECE if they’re trading a gift, while this one is more of a “maybe they should double down on depth and just look to shake things up”? Especially as Siakam isn’t an athletic focused player. His game seems like it’ll continue to age fairly?
I guess this all comes down to if you think Santi is a star in the making? Or just a solid starting option at PF?
