Re: Chicago Sky/WNBA 2025 season thread
Angel Reese was outright good for the Sky yesterday, recording an 11/13/11 triple double. OK her finishing remains a problem but for the first time the Sky's plan to play her at point forward looked sensible. She played a very aware game, with kick-out passes, pocket passes, and hitting cutters. I was impressed ... and I'm no Angel Reese fan, as a general rule. But credit is due.

Re: Chicago Sky/WNBA 2025 season thread
yeah after that rough start she's been really really good. shame about...the rest of the team
also man that atkins trade took even less time than i thought to look god-awful. is it good to trade a rookie who makes the all-star game and a pick swap for a veteran on an expiring contract when you're a bottom-two team in the league?

I don’t know how often it happens every game, but I see Angel Reese meme clips in my Twitter feed very frequently. She’s quite funny.

While many may disagree, I believe that Reese is the most polarizing player in the WNBA. Obviously, many would say that’s Clark. But I consider Clark to be more popular in general than the most polarizing. Therefore, anything with Reese content is going to draw clicks and many of the people that post that content have even admitted as much. So, they put together these montages of her worst career moments and push it as if that’s Reese in a nutshell.
While her game isn’t aesthetically pleasing at all, she’s far more skilled than she’s given credit for. This season has been especially intense from a criticism standpoint because she got off to that slow start and the team as a whole is so bad. But since that triple double game last month, Reese has quietly been playing at an all-wnba level.

It flies under the radar because nobody cares about them, and all our pro teams are run very poorly. But wow, this franchise takes the crown as worst run team in professional sports, men or women. This franchise makes the Gar/pax look like the Riley/Myers Golden State warriors. Billy king Brooklyn level awful

Yeah, I don't have any issues with Angel's critique of the team. They did nothing this off-season. And you look at the work Indiana put in to put a roster around Clark vs what Chicago did, and it looks even more pathetic.

Rather play with Clark imo.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Bit hard for someone to ask for better players when you're out there shooting like 30 percent from 3 feet as a big and third in the league for total turnovers only having 10 and 6 less than the others despite playing 6 and 9 games less than them.
Fix your own game first or at least acknowledge your also not good.

So are we ignoring the fact that she's averaging 15/13/4 on 46% from the floor. We're just picking out the bad stats of hers? Got it.
Angel definitely needs to improve, but she's been killing it since that rough start, and she's hardly the reason her team is bad. They were horrible with her out of the lineup too.
Only positives on that team are the two second year bigs. And it's hard to workout in the paint, when your team is almost dead last in shooting, so teams just compact the paint.

You can say what you want about her shortcomings. But a big part of the Sky’s problem is that this front office is NEVER held accountable. This front office has done an absolutely trash job. Reese has a big mouth for sure. But good on her for this one as far as I’m concerned.

It's Billy King bad. Just last year they traded the #3 overall pick , AND uncluded a 2027 swap, for a journeymen vet that's never been an all-star. They also next years 1st too, can very well be forking over the #1 pick.
It's insane as to how much this piss poor management flies under the radar. Probably because nobody watches

This isn't a good look for any player in any sport. She talks a lot. It's kinda annoying. The Lance Lynn of women's basketball.

Well, Atkins is actually a 2x All Star. But your general point remains valid.

She actually doesn’t say as much as most social media platforms would have you think. I agree that this is never a good look. But sometimes, certain things just need to be said. This team is terrible! Even if she didn’t handle it in a good way, she has every right to be pissed. There’s no reason why the Sparks tore it down at the same time the Sky did yet they look like they’re freakin miles ahead.

Good point. They are terrible and she's seemingly improved. Still can't finish around the basket but not sub-40% terrible. .537 doesn't seem like a great TS but I think it's generally lower across the board in WNBA. Don't care about the social media stuff, she's just a **** talker and hasn't really backed it up yet. Reminds me of Draymond a little bit (besides the winning) but she shouldn't be the best player on the team in the same way.

And Citron has had an amazing rookie year. Had it not been for Paige, she'd be ROY for sure. Makes it even worse.

My bad! It's most definitely of the "Vucevic is a two time AS" variety though !
It's almost like AKME runs the Sky. But even they haven't done any stupid trades like this in a few years now
