Gotta admit.. after this tourney, this could be the matchstick that lights up basketball in Sweden. They have players with the height and heft for bigmen, 6'6 dudes that can play wing and some stuff.

I know its Franz strength to punish the mismatches... but he does get bumped a lot and ends up on the floor... my mind always screams NOOOOOOO especially when he lands funny

Needless to say that this is a very emotional game for me and my fellow Portuguese Magic fans :)

Yeah, Franz shot is horrible today.
All of the Germany team is playing terribly compared to the groups stage. We have no chance today they're playing so badly we are weirdly in the game still...

Germany with epic 1/18 for 3 in first half, playing like complete a**, and physicality of Queta is bothering them.

Not that Portugal is shooting much better ( 4/17) but still play overall better. Could be up more, if they didn't blew up two set plays to finish both first and second quarter.

Goes to show how much harder it is to play at elimination stage when one poor game will bounce you.

Well, they starting hitting them, game over, but we gave a good fight to the strongest team of the tournament (so far). Happy with this PT team, they are learning and growing a lot.

Welp, not over yet. Gameiro and Brito showed up big time in the late third quarter. Nice!

They really started nailing those 3s -and we went ice cold -and game is done. Loved the fight we gave for 3 quarters, but Germany is a few levels above and this was supposed to be a much easier win than it was for them.

Yeah. Schroeder was bad today, Franz only really showed up when the rest of the team was getting their groove back. Lo was the igniter, there was nobody able to stop him. Obst opens the floor like he only knows how to.

Well deserved win for Germany, but the final score makes it look a lot easier than it was.

Franz did a lot of heavy lifting. Lo was the spark and almost stole the player of the game award from Franz. Franz had 16-7-5, very solid even if he didn’t hit a 3.

Tristan didn’t attempt a shot until the fourth and hit the final daggers (4-of-4, 3-of-3 on 3s). He was a bit too passive in the third, only played 4 minutes the first half.

Germany will play the winner of Slovenia-Italy (my guess is Italy) in the quarterfinals.

Germany lost Voightmann and are basically down to Theimann and Theis at big.
Germany was like 1-of-23 on 3s before Lo snapped that.
Mumbru was back on the bench but it’s still Ibrahimagic as technically interim head coach.

How has Franz been laying it up?
That should be his go-to. Not jacking up three’s.

Goodby Serbia. Lauri had several massive brainfarts in last 3 min but Serbia went into no-brain mode as well.

God do I love this tourney.

Serbia knocked out of the Round of 16 by Italy in 2022, now Finland today.
Valtonen the quarter of his life.

Door is open for Germany.

Door is open for everybody after those games. Sweden going toe-tp-toe with Turkey. Portugal only losing momentum in the 4th. Plus this epic takedown by the Fins?

Dream big dreams
