Latvia has really built up a solid foundation over the years. They have a mix NBA experienced guys and Euro players which helps get them through most of the qualifiers and into tournaments. Kind of unlucky with this matchup against Lithuania.

Props to Lithuania as usual.

Hard to win with only 2 players and coach who keeps doing nothing.
Biggest game of the tournament and 3 main guys forget how to play basketball.Just stands around doing nothing.No cutting nothing.

Also, Kurtinaitis is defensive mastermind. Starting the game with Tubelis on Zagars, Latvias pick and rolls went nowhere. Tubelis been revelation, we technically have one of the most versatiler PF defender of Euroleague in Tadas Sedekerskis, but Tubelis overshadowed him bigtime in this very role.

Lithuania built the lead because their defensive plan worked and Velička became Steve Nash for a moment, Latvia cut it back when Velička and Lithuanian defensive bigs were benched. It definitely wasn't Porzingis issue for Latvia, he carried that team as much as he could, wasn't sure he still had it in him.

Valančiūnas was spot minutes player in this game, latvia plays 5 out. Valančiūnas honestly looks cooked, I do not know how can he still play in the NBA.

I lowered my expectations about LV when then information came out about Rodions injury. He was the one guy who could guard all positions, poke the ball from opposing point guard and quickly dunk it at the other end. Also Žagars was not 100 % and so we were actually without decent point guard. When Gražulis went down, it was clear that this is not our turnament.
But I did not expect that only Porziņģis and Lomažs will play well in the elimination game.
And I know that it is bad style to complain about referees, but the Polish arbiter was very one-sided.

Commentators on Courtside are pretty clueless. PBP guy unironically said Jokic was taking a heat check FT after making his first 4 in a row. Other one said "2 for 1" opportunity when there was 45 seconds left in the half.
