With only 1 timeout left, Matt Eberflus would have went for the onside kick.

This **** with the Bears writes itself.

Neither team impressed me. The biggest thing is just a reminder that Flores is a good DC.

McCarthy had a really good fourth quarter, but I'd give more credit to his offensive line figuring **** out and giving him time.

Caleb - man, I've been high on him, but he is too inconsistent and he holds the ball too much. Same issues he's had that I figured he'd improve on with a good offensive mind at head coach. But I saw the same stuff today. He can make an electric throw or escape the pocket, but then he misses an open guy or takes a bad sack. More time with Johnson will help, I think.

Santos is an idiot. Missed a FG and then can't kick the ball out of the end zone. It would have been better if he kicked it out of bounds.

First time I listened to The Score in a while. Kind of bland considering the circumstances.

Only so many ways you can react to the same game

Caleb Williams was given a **** sandwich for a coaching staff last year, but he had some serious flaws independent of coaching and I don't see any improvement. It's like the game is too fast for him inside the pocket and he can't wait to escape so he can improvise and not have to "think" anymore.

Just look at his highlight video from last season. 90% of it is: 1)he threw to his first read in the pocket and 2) he scrambled.

Great athlete, but again, this is just Justin Fields all over again. Maybe he could still improve...dunno.

So much this. He seems to be the only starting QB in the league that can't function with a completely clean pocket. Hes very much a "1 read and go" QB and while the scheme is better he isnt

He gets bailed out a bit by being able to simply outrun defensive ends. Parsons is going to end up getting soooooooooooooooo many chase down sacks against him

Aside from coaching, Caleb isn't very good. I called him Kyler Murray coming out and he's not far off. Uses his legs to create big chunk plays, has one or two wow throws using a side arm or off platform, but the rest is disorganized chaos and lousy decision making. He can't throw within the offense, holds the ball too long and is trying to be Superman instead of making the easier play.

Viking fans seem confident that McCarthy is the player they saw for 1 quarter, rather than the player they saw for 3 quarters or somewhere in between.

Isn't it likely that he was nervous as hell to start the game & then settled in as time went on? Seems rather logical to me. Regardless, no one will know anything for sure for quite a few more games.

I thought JJ looked pretty sharp in the 4th. I think nerves and adjusting to regular season football played to a slow start. He'll have his ups and downs, and I expect him to struggle more with harder defenses, but he gained some confidence and was slinging it at the end. Hopefully for our sake, he doesn't keep trending upward.

It's probably a combination of that, plus CHI was already down 3 defensive starters heading into the game and had more injuries causing them to throw some bums out there. That and their D was gassed after the O's 3 and outs.

Felt kind of like a classic bears performance where the scripted early offense looked great, but then nothing after. Even under Nagy and Trubiski, that's what they did.

I found it hilarious how they were hyping up KOC telling his player live to take it out, like yeah, no s*** you are returning that kick.

Neither team was super impressive. Vikings defense looked ripe to give up a ton of points, but were bailed out by poor throws.

I love that the Lions and Bears play this Sunday. One of them is going to go from thinking they were going to be really good, to 0-2 quick.

Probably the Bears haha.
