If that one report that came out recently is even half true. The dude won’t be in the league in 5 years. If he has a bad year this year, his seat is going to get hot. And he’ll only have 1 more year before the Bears move on from him. I mean just look at Bryce Young. He’s in year 3 and it seems like he’s barely hanging onto being a starter in this league. And that dude is supposed to be the ultimate A+ guy off the field.

I need to see him with a competent run game. The Bears have by far the worst running game in the league. And no offense to Jack but Rome is looking like a borderline bust. The man cannot separate. He reminds me of OJ McDuffie out there which is fine but he can't run. The skill positions are not good.

But that’s the thing though. Before the season started last year, the talk was “is this the best situation ever for a #1 overall pick?” Then it completely tanked and the talking points were, “oh Rome’s just a rookie”, “Keenan Allen is washed”, “the O line sucks”.

Keenan’s first game back with Herbert, he puts up 70 yards and a touchdown. Maybe the O line just sucked because Caleb held the ball longer than anyone else in the league. Like I forgot the stat, but I believe I saw somewhere that for the first 3 seconds, Caleb had like bottom 5 in the league in pressure rate. But his overall pressure rate was so high because he held the ball so much longer than anyone else. And you can’t expect a clean pocket for more than 2.5-3 seconds.

I just think he’s a guy that has some very rare skills. But his flaws are catastrophic flaws. And this is coming from as big of a Caleb homer/fan as there was after his sophomore year in college.

McCarthy first ever NFL debut for a QB to have 3 TDs in the 4th quarter. That dude just went to a different tier.

And I can see how the ultimate football guy (Harbaugh) loved him so much if this is how he handles big moments like he did tonight.

Larry Allen had a great punch move too.

Watching the video NFL put up of the Mannings thing and they had Moss on for the entire 4th. Ya no doubt there some bias here, but damn I could listen to Randy talk football for hours. Dude is just so entertaining, especially in a more relaxed atmosphere like the Manning broadcast.

i think the whole team stepped up

starters probably barely played in the preseason and needed some time to knock the rust off (even jefferson alligator armed a couple passes)
once everyone got going, it turns out that its a pretty good team

Ben Johnson should have taken the Washington HC job a year earlier.

Yes he appears prone to whooping a MF’s ass when needed.

PFF gave him a pass block grade of 26 on the day and an overall grade of 53.9. Only ass getting whooped was his own ass

They have more than enough playmakers. Caleb IS the problem.

Who are the play makers? A rookie TE and an aging WR. No running game. Rome is a possession receiver. If he was 2 inches taller he'd be playing TE...he has very little burst IMO.

There is just no speed on this roster

Caleb needs to play better in rhythm. After the first scoring drive, his play spiraled. Just too many misses. Some of the accuracy on his throws we're shockingly bad. He also can't consistently live in scramble mode all the time.

The biggest red flag for me is that he somewhat struggles to throw with anticipation.

There are far too many examples on film of him hesitating, by taking an extra hitch, when the ball should instead come out on time.

As expected, Jalen Carter will not be suspended further games. Like I said before, missing the entire game 1 is basically a suspension anyway and the league agrees.

Brian Baldinger will do a video on his game later this week. Let’s see the tape shows.

He should have got at least 1 game for conduct detrimental to the league. The ejection was justified but actually being suspended for 1 game would have been justified.

Oh well. I’m sure the thug will do something else before the end of the year to get suspended. I bet he beats his girlfriend (or boyfriend).

DJ, Rome, Kmet, Loveland, Burden…last year he had Keenan Allen.

Are you saying DJ is aging, at age 28?

On the broadcast they were showing receivers open and Caleb was just missing them.
