Who are the play makers? A rookie TE and an aging WR. No running game. Rome is a possession receiver. If he was 2 inches taller he'd be playing TE...he has very little burst IMO.
There is just no speed on this roster

Caleb needs to play better in rhythm. After the first scoring drive, his play spiraled. Just too many misses. Some of the accuracy on his throws we're shockingly bad. He also can't consistently live in scramble mode all the time.

His eyes and feet aren’t tied together. Which leads to inconsistent footwork, which then leads to inaccuracy problems.
He just doesn’t have good fundamentals. And to me the biggest red flag about this is, where is the improvement over the last 3 years? All of Caleb flaws are still the same flaws and not much improvement at all with them.
Again the dude is as naturally gifted as they come. That bullet he threw in the 1st quarter while on the run to Rome is just freakish. Like in all honesty, I think only 3 other QBs in the league can make that play. Escape the rush, out run Gink, full sprint going out of bounds, then just a 25-30 yard bullet (I mean a freaking bullet) to Rome going out of bounds. I think Allen, Mahomes, and Herbert are the only guys in the league currently that have all the physical tools to make that entire play.
But that’s the problem, those out of structure plays the dude is a flat out freak. The thing is, 85-90% of the plays are going to be within structure. Especially in a Ben Johnson offense which is a time based heavy system.
And in structure, far too often you see the wide open DJ throw out of bounds, then sailing it 10 feet over the head of the check down, the 4th down throw where the ball placement is nowhere near DJ and almost picked.
