Great job Gutey
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Even when he's healthy he's not actually healthy. Just not a Watson fan.

That said, this is a nothing of a deal // not my money and no impact AFAIK, so - sure.

Definitely. The offense has been different with him out there even since his rookie year. Keeps defenses really honest with his legit speed, plus he’s a good, big blocker.

By all accounts, he's be been real diligent with his rehab*, and should be ready by mid-season. Bringing him on for the stretch run may be perfect timing too. The short term contract is a good faith investment.

Does that change any background FA status for 2027?

*Rehab - of course its in his best interest to be diligent about preparation, but no every player does that.

The stats when he plays vs when he doesn’t shows his value. He’s been the only real deep threat, field stretcher that worries defenses, which opens up everything else. Now Golden should mitigate his loss in the meantime, but still, the value in him, even with his faults, is obvious.

I was fine with letting Watson walk, but I don't hate this either. Cap is healthy for the next few years so it's not like we need to pinch pennies

Definitely happy to have Watson back for an extra year. But I think folks continue to undersell Doubs. He's Love's security blanket. I understand the concussion concerns and obviously he had some beef last year that resulted in a suspension. But I trust him more than anyone in our receiving corp.

I like this from the standpoint it kinda just pushes the decision out a year when Wicks, Reed and now Watson are all due but doesn't really affect them a whole lot next season

The issue is we have other guys to fill his role (hopefully better in Golden) where as we lack the speedy deep threat outside of Watson

I think he's ideally your 3rd, 4th WR but I don't think he wants to be paid like that. He's going to have to go elsewhere to get paid like a #2 or whatever he thinks he's worth.

They should've gotten it as part of the contract that his dad has to stop tweeting.

I love Doubs though. Seems like Love does too. MLF too.

I think we'll be totally fine without Doubs. He's a bonus right now. It's true that Love has good rapport with Doubs (going back to OTAs in their rookie years) but he's developing it with Kraft and seemingly Golden now too. I would rather have more touches from them and Jacobs with Reed and Watson hitting some home runs than Doubs. Wicks is also looking like odd-man out

At 26, Doubs is going to want a multi-year bigger money deal. I would much rather see if there is an older vet that would take a reasonable 1-year deal as a stop gap. Guys like Keenan Allen, Hollywood, Hopkins, etc. who are already taking 1-year deals to contend.

Just heard on radio that Packers had deal in place for Hendrickson. Bengals agreed to terms, Hendrickson agreed to extension, and Bengals backed out in the final moment.

If true that's pretty shi..y but I'm glad we got Parsons out of it instead.

Cincy doing things that are bad for business and keeping status quo with them being one of the worst managed teams in the league ... noooo way

I wonder how often backing out of a set deal happens in the NFL. The one I remember from the NBA a long time ago was when Danny Ferry and the Hawks pulled out of a trade they had agreed to with the Bucks, to bring Josh Smith over. I guess both the Josh-Smith and Hendrickson are whew-type situations in retrospect, like how the best trade is sometimes the one you don't make (or the other team pulls out of).
