Absolute clothesline by Shengelia. Have to think the refs missing the unsportsmanlike foul on him contributed.

The Georgians fought but it was too tall a task, respect and good luck in next tournaments, go Finns! I'm rooting for them from now on.

It is but it was also bound to happen at some point. Their national programme has made great strides.

And I am left with nothing but an oath that gleams like a sword
To bathe in the blood of man
Mankind..."

Not likely, if they meet with Germany in semifinals.

Rooting hard for Luka selfishly, I think Finland would've atleast some chance of beating Slovenia.

They would be favourites, but Slovenia beating Germany would be one of the biggest surprises in Eurobasket history.

Probably similar to Germany beating Spain in 05. One team is clearly better overall, but the other team has the best individual player and that ultimately gets them the W. Dirk scored 27 points on 2 free throws that day, Germany shot 9 free throws as a team, while Spain shot 32.

Luka is a monster, so we'll see what happens.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Turkey Coach Ataman after crying about scheduling in the previous phase is now working the refs.

Calls the Free Throws Giannis got against Lithuania as a result of Spanoulis complaining one week ago.(He only shot 2 FTs against Israel)

He then says Greek Coach learnt the "mental games" and media handling from him (lol)

And he then complains about Giannis not getting called for enough offensive fouls like in the NBA (doh,he contantly drives from the 3 in NBA,and most of the times is in the low post in FIBA)

Great Coach,unbearable personality...

Germany had better roster than Slovenia back then. If Olimpia Milano didn't **** us 1 month ago, I would have been a lot more optimistic about today's game.

Ataman is such an insufferable troll. He just never stops.

And it just proves what I said earlier in the thread was right, that Spanoulis knows what a troll Ataman is, how he always tries to influence the refs, and how he always tries to distract teams and players with BS in the media.

It's ridiculous that Ataman ruins the sporting spirit of the EuroLeague and the EuroBasket with these childish antics.

Why? Despite some clown antics, Ataman is my favorite Euroleague coach. Trinchieri is fine as coach I suppose, but I just hated his personally for years, he always seemed like such unpleasant alpha male person, I would feel uncomfortable near him, Ataman on the other hand is chill dude.

Eh, this is nothing really new for coaches and media-speak. Ataman just doesn't care and will seek any potential advantage.

Nevermind that Valanciunas clotheslined Giannis on a drive and there wasn't even an unsportsmanlike (flagrant) called. Giannis almost never complains as well.

You have to be quite feeble-minded and probably shouldnt be coaching at this level if you are this affected by another coach's "antics"
