Unless they were injured they should have played in almost every game.
IMO, bigs need consistent minutes when developing them.
Beef stew saw 20mpg in 70+ games AND IMO, he's not that much better than Neems.
This isn't a charity where we're supposed to just hand out minutes to everybody. This isn't rec league where everyone gets a medal and everyone plays the same amount.
This is the NBA and it was a championship or bust season.
You play your best players. Period.
If a young kid earns mins in practice/games/offseason workouts/summer league/preseason then you give him the mins they earn. But there's no handouts. You don't just blindly give young, unproven kids 20MPG in 70+ games. Not even lottery teams do that. The Jazz were tanking and they had a top 10 pick (Taylor Hendricks) in the G league. Why? Because he wasn't good enough yet for more NBA mins.
If you're a 21 year old kid who has unproven at the NBA level and you're on a team with the best wing duo in the league, plus one of the best wing shooters in the league off the bench, who also just drafted a wing in the 1st round and you're a 2nd round pick wing, it's probably gonna be hard to crack the rotation.
And if you're on a team where it's championship or bust, a team with probably the deepest center rotation in NBA history and you're the youngest, least experienced big on the roster, it's probably gonna be hard to get a ton of mins..
