Doncic having the cheek to moan for calls when he’s had the kindest whistle all night is… something.

Did Franz did anything of consequence in the 4th?

I didn't see the whole quarter, but I think he pulled down two key rebounds. 1 offensive board and one defensive.
He also hit a nice mid range jumper.

Alright, well I’m happy for Franz and Tristan. Hoping for HEALTH and success for the rest of the tournament.

He slowed down in scoring after the 1st quarter because I saw GER using him to guard Luka when Bonga was in the bench. Geeez what were they thinking? Probably your best scorer and you use him to guard Luka???

Tristan won that game with that half court shot third quarter buzzer, after that Germany got self-confidence.

They haven’t been hiding him he just isn’t good.

Idk… He can hit the 3 and slash. Thats enough for a 3rd stringer, imo.

He can't hit the 3 or slash. The guy is a sub 30% shooter from 3 and can't even dribble.

Slovenia vs Germany is worst officiated game i watched under FIBA in last 5 years or so.

Refs destroyed game. First they called everything, got Dončić into early foul troubles over nothing, than chickened out and called nothing.

It was very soft right up to the end. Poor officiating really - but you have to wonder if their inability to "read the room" is in large part down to all the early whining from both sides (esp Doncic, but also German players incl Wagner) and coaching staff (esp Slovenian coach).

Top refs can work with stars and manage their sense of entitlement while reffing a fair game for all. But these guys are not the top refs and I think the early pressuring put them on the defensive. Players and coaches have to assume some responsibility for what ensued.

I'm not from Germany.
I'm not from Slovenia.

Refs made sure Germany can't lose. Thies had possession late in 4th quarter where he was trapped and made seven steps, but refs didn't call traveling. Guy moved meter without dribbling.

On Lo's 3 point shot, Bonga is holding opponent by hands so he can't pass screen and moves screen, NFL style. Schorder smacking people isn't tec. foul, but whatever Luka (didn't) do in first quarter is ?

My Spain-Croatia -2005 quarter finals trauma kicked in. Every damn tournament refs make it impossible for small countries. It's incredible how all the mistakes are always against underdogs? Coincidence i guess?

Is Schroder still flipping from push ? Is his arm broken? Rumor has it that he is now in hospital from how serious that kick was?
Guy got little push and jumped doing 360 backflip for flop. gtfo.

Unwatchable garbage.

Thing is, you know balance of power between those two countries entering a game. You know that they can't really be competitive if you take them Luka.
And what was first thing refs did? Made sure he gets laughable T on first foul, 2 min into a game. Than second with 4 min of playing in first quarter. Early in second half, their only hope for win has 4 fouls. At least 2 /4 were complete BS.

In mean time, Schroder is flipping, flopping, bouncing, kicking, pointing fingers, smacking people across elbows. Punishment? 2 fouls whole game.

Theis had 6 FTA.
2 for shadow foul on missed dunk.
2 for failed attempt to flop to get Dončić 5th. Guy grabbed his head. Nobody was near his head. They play slow motion, it gets so silly that he should have been T-ed up for flopping.
Might got actually fouled for other two.

And as i repeated to drds, last 5 min it was full blown fellatio by referees to Germany. Might as well suit them in their team colors. Uncalled travels, uncalled fouls, uncalled moving screens.

If you want to be ballsy one as a referee, go ahead and give Dončić 5th in 3rd quarter. But you won't. Because somebody will f*** up your career after for destroying game. So you give guy 4 quick fouls and than chicken out for rest of a game, but continue to devastate his team with hilarious calls.

In such game 25 vs 37 FTA disparity is uncalled for. Slovenia had more rebounds, more offensive rebounds, but only 3 shots more. Disparity of FTA created 6 possessions gap. Six. That's 18 points potential turnaround/ 10 points expected. You can't beat it as a team.

Slovenia had 8 men in serious rotation, among 8 of them, they called 31 fouls on them. That is average of 4 fouls per player . Five is ejection. Like... i watch so many Euro ball, if you want to highjack and "fix" / rig game, this is how you do it 101. You put best player in silly foul troubles and you call game so uneven that players lose their mind, and in their madness you just pile them up with 6 min bonuses.

Even if by some miracle game went to OT, refs made sure every single player from Slovenia is 1 foul away from ejection. Before game ended, they already ejected Omić and Nikolić. Dončić, Horvat, Murić and Krampelj had 4.

By amount of fouls they had, you would think Slovenia was elbowing players in head and hurting them on purpose. They didn't even play dirty. They were just not allowed to play defense.

It will be poetic justice if Germany faces Greece and gets frustrated when standing next to Giannis is automatic 2 FTA.

Hate to say it but what's up appears to be that Goga is a petulant immature kid in a man's body.

Been really disappointed with how he has carried himself because he had a lot of natural talent.

Slovenia kept throwing their body into ballhandlers. I thought I was watching the NFL. They just couldn't move their feet on defense. Instead of closing out on defense, they would run right through the offensive player.
