It took a while but they reached the middle ground of 25M per.

I'm guessing the Bulls still had concerns about his 3pt shooting.
I was thinking offering a bonus if he hits above 36% with a minimum of 3 shots/game.

Why do people compare newly signed contracts to current horrible contracts?

Hypothetically speaking, if a team is unable to trade a player a day after he signs his new deal, it's more than likely a bad contract.

If no one wants the player you just signed at the price you signed him for, it's a bad contract. Period.

I think this will be the baseline for a potential Nuggets deal with Christian Braun

Trash contract for the Bulls. Good luck moving that in one year.

Do you practice your bad takes in the mirror? Because you have your delivery down to a science. I guess that’s what happens when you have so many bad takes.

Half the price for a player that only plays half the game. Actually makes sense to me.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Isn’t this trade just obvious:

Giddey/Vucevic

For

Fears/Murray

NOP would have no defense in backcourt but does a quality franchise make trade decisions base on Jordan Poole???

Giddey would be a passing PG Zion needs. Murray isn’t healthy. Giddey isn’t picture of health either.

NOP is already all-in trading unprotected 2026 1st.

Seems like a good deal for both sides to me.

Bulls folded; still it is a good deal for them.

They folded? They got him down $20 million from what he was asking for!

They folded because they could have signed him to their original offer. Giddey had no leverage.

His leverage was to take the QO, and if he plays a full season like he did post ASB, then next year hes a UFA and would cost $40 mill per to retain. Locking him up at a reasonable rate (by 2025 NBA standards) is a good move.

Why is it a bad take?

Giddey can't play defense. The size argument doesn't even make sense. Not even OKC could hide him and resorted to benching him before they traded him. As for his numbers, stat padding on a bad team. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not saying he doesn't have his value, but 100 million for someone who is a third option at best who will eventually have to sit because of his inability to stay in front of faster players is ridiculous.

We'll see how this take ages but I am confident the Bulls will regret this contract. Book it.

they have been mired in sub40 mid 30s level for YEARS so how will giving giddy a 100mil contract going to help them from not sukking when he hasn't helped yet

otoh, giddy just got undeserved star*money for helping them play sub40 ball

anyway, josh is living up to his surname because he must surely be that

the bull's core issue is management and they just spent oodles of cash to fix the wrong thing

fortunately for the rest of the nba, the bulls haven't siphoned off any talent in their 1st round for the past 10 years, and they traded lauri and portis after 4yrs
