The newest PTFO is great. The reporting on Dennis Wong being the only other owner and covering the late payment. I mean holy **** what more do you need Silver!?!?

Pablo has in his possession bank documents key to this. The question is will Silver look at them.

If LAC isn't basically death penaltied then this is the beginning of the end of the NBA as a competitive major sports league. IMO, this is far more worthy of compelling an owner to sell than Donald Sterling's abhorrent behavior.

As for Kawhi, to me this is just as bad as a player gambling on themselves and intentionally throwing games. Lifetime ban. Disgraced status.

NBA needs to make an example of the Clippers. I am sure there will be dozens of fans in LA really shook up by it.

I don't even think this is an outrageous idea. If circumventing the cap is a cardinal sin, then Silver has to come down in the strongest possible way. Make it so harsh that it's not attempted again.

Hollinger and Nate talked a lot about Kawhi and what happens to him. They both believe Ballmer and the Clippers need to be nailed to the wall. But voiding Kawhi’s contract they felt would be a bridge too far with the players union. Union would then go crazy.

That said, I’d void his contract. Needs to be done.

Yeah they have to come down hard on this ****. They can’t make the punishment just the cost of doing business. The punishment needs to be a big disincentive for anyone else thinking of circumventing the cap.

And when it's all said and done, Kawhi ends up on the Lakers with Luka and Bronny.

I know Silver is wishing it were the Grizzlies or the Pelicans. He'd probably take OKC over this happening to an LA team.

Fitting Kawhi gets exposed while Wemby ascends.

Yeah butterfly effect but the contrast btw David Robinson handing off to Tim Duncan handing off to Kawhi before he bailed on the Spurs (and then the championship Raptors) comes to mind.

Ballmer should be forced to sell and Kawhi suspended for a season and contract voided. Maybe a tad harsh but any sort of monetary penalty for Ballmer is chicken feed.

After I first saw Pablo's podcast I thought that nothing was going to happen because Silver and co. were incentivized for nothing to happen. But now, I think there's too much there for them to be able to do that. I don't think we're going to see Ballmer lose the team, but I suspect we'll see a mid-8 figures fine, a loss of multiple 1st's and him not being able to attend games. I think there's a slightly better than 50-50 chance we'll see Kawhi's contract voided which will be accompanied by a suspension of at least a season. And I don't think anything is announced in the next month but if I'm correct about Kawhi's punishment whenever we do get an announcement, I wouldn't be surprised if that results in the end of his NBA career.

Hear me out on this one...

If the KL stuff goes unpunished, we pay Giannis in Aston Villa equity and maybe a Deer District hotel deal. Somehow sneak him into the ownership group of the Bucks that starts as soon as he retires.

But wouldn't every team just offer him the same types of circumvention deals? Arison could slide him 100 million to put his face on a Carnival Cruise Ship or something.

Even if this is actually the case (which I'm very suspicious about vs Simmons carrying water for Ballmer) the 2nd apron dynamics are going to supercharge the problem.

Here's what AI gave me:

Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”
