Crazy. Brogdon, Shamet, and Garrison Matthews all taking non guaranteed vet minimums to compete for the same roster spot (due to hard cap space, and unless NY salary dumps Dadiet into space to clear a second spot)? Not something I would have predicted a year or two ago.

The Jazz could take a flyer on him for just cap space; don't know that he's worth any additional incentive at this point.

Brogdon's a bit of a shock; the others, not so much.

I think he's washed and the word is out, similar to Kemba few years ago. Also signed a non guaranteed deal w/ the Mavs.

Minnesota was sniffing around Malcolm Brogdon, so him taking an unguaranteed one-year minimum makes me wonder if his body is swiss cheese. Indicates that Minnesota wasn't offering guaranteed money, despite having a clear path to playing time.

I would expect Minnesota to make a move in December if Dillingham struggles to be a consistent shot-creator for the 2nd unit. With Conley aging out and a lack of playmaking from the guard spot on your roster, you need Dillingham to show some life this year.
Dillingham not showing much growth this year isn't a major cause for concern long-term but it is for your current window.

I think Gobert will be moved. They can’t pay Naz Randle and Jaden. They will move Gobert for expirings and smaller contracts that fit. Beringer will be able to replace Gobert on D in backup mins and Wolves will play more for offense with Naz at the 5.
I think TSJ is going to show out this season and become that wing scorer they need with NAW leaving.

The Wolves can say goodbye to any chance at a top 10 defense if they do that. asking a currently 18-year-old to step into Rudy's role even for backup minutes is a pretty massive step down, no matter what you project Beringer to actually become in a few years

I mean that’s probably why he’s agreeing to a buyout. This almost feels like the obvious move

Maybe, but LA would have to make a trade to clear a little more than $1m from their guaranteed salary to be able to sign Love to a vet minimum and stay below their hard cap at the 1st Apron.

Biyombo returns to Spurs on one year deal
Can't believe this poor guy was forced to start for us last year because of how terrible our front court depth was after Vic went down. Now he'll be an emergency third string C which is a role he's more suited for
Spurs went from Collins/Biyombo/Bassey to Kornet/Olynyk/Biyombo. Much better rotation behind Vic next season

Warriors offered Jonathan Kuminga a three-year, $75.2M contract
Sep. 15, 2025, 11:21 AM EDT
The Warriors have strengthened their effort. Late last week, Dunleavy offered Kuminga a three-year, $75.2 million deal with a team option in the third season, sources told ESPN. That's $48.3 million guaranteed in the first two seasons and basically the same per year salary as fellow restricted free agent Josh Giddey, who re-signed with the Chicago Bulls for four years and $100 million. The difference: Half the length and a team-controlled third season and a subliminal understanding that the contract is more trade asset than commitment to a partnership.

Yeah, Love is mostly-cooked and I'm not sure LA would bother making room for him.
Teams with open roster spots include Golden State (5), New York (2), Cleveland (2), Minnesota(2), Detroit(1), Philadelphia (1), Sacramento (1). Golden State has a bunch of those spots spoken for, and the Knicks haven't signed Shamet/Mathews according to Spotrac (for cap reasons).
Cleveland and Minnesota would be interesting homecoming reunions for Love. Detroit is probably keeping a spot open for Beasley. Don't see Philly or Sacramento as basketball fits, but Philadelphia is close to his offseason home (New York).

Crazy how long this situation has dragged out. If he refuses, if I'm GS I'm rescinding the QO and moving on. They need to get the rest of the dudes waiting on this signed and ready for training camp already

Could be the reason for Wiggins trade heating up?
