This is what is being reported.

It's the slippery slope of being in the media: You're allowed to report on things that fall in your wheelhouse but not share your personal take on something outside it. And while I understand the Kirk situation is more a political one and outside his sporting related purview, he's still a regular dude with thoughts and feelings like everyone else. Much in the same vein as Kirk's musings, you don't have to like or agree with them.

Once a person has a job in a corporate space that is easily recognizable, this is what happens. Internet tribalism is fierce and without mercy and employers don't want any part in it. Him losing his gig once that came out is of little surprise to me.

TBH - if he is cheering on an assasination, he needs something more than a firing. What a horrible human being.

I hope the dude doesn't work again. Go work for CNN if you are going to bring politics into sports. We all mourn school shootings, murders, etc. Its because we are human beings and not P. O . S

I won't engage much further than saying he was definitely NOT cheering on an assassination.

The whole purpose of so much of what happens these days is for people to hate on each other, specially the common people, so the powerful can keep their position.

Hope you are well!

My issue with him is that he is looking at the political side of things. His wife and kids saw him murdered in front of them. Many onlookers witnessed it too. And many who saw it online.
Nobody should be saying anything bad right now. Just say nothing if you don't like the person.

I always had to force myself to listen to Gerald but even before this, he was very annoying. Always acts like he knows more than everyone else. I don't like people to lose their jobs but I won't miss him. He'll eventually get work again. You have to be some kind of stupid to think, in this era, you can say things like he did and not think there could be serious repercussions.

I wonder if PHNX will look to bring back Lindsey or Flex. Gerald was their 'in' guy.
Perhaps Eric will get credentials to go to post-game interviews?

I didn't agree with everything in Gerald's tweet but he definitely was not promoting extra judicial killings and he is free to speak his mind even if you don't agree with what he has to say.

PHNX's podcast and all the stuff that they put on their YouTube channel is already mediocre at best with Bourguet (by far their best reporter/analyst). I can't imagine how bad they can be without him.

Thankfully we have The Timeline podcast.

Sengun being compared more and more to Jokic with his play in EuroBasket. Rockets will be good this season and for the future.

I just want to try and mitigate the value of the lotto picks they'll be recieving from us in 27 and 29. Probably won't happen, but would like the value to be as minimized as possible.

And maybe the 26' 1st going to Memphis.

PHNX has brought no value to Suns information. Bunch of podcasters looking for 15 minutes of fame but have no useful information. I’ve been on this website for close to two decades. No one has been able to provide better Suns info than this forum and this Suns community.

This is why I'm hot
This is why I'm hot
I'm hot 'coz I'm fly
You ain't 'coz you're not
This is why, this is why
This is why I'm hot

Not entirely apropos to the discussion at hand, but I've always just really appreciated these lyrics by hiphop industry titan Mims.

First, in a tarantino-esque narrative reconstruction, Mr. Mims leaves the listener in suspense by beginning his statement with the conclusion "this is why I'm hot", thereby informing the listener of his aforementioned hotness while leaving the listener guessing as to why he's hot.

By repeating the phrase, Mr Mims continues to build suspense, capturing the attention of the listener even closer.

Then, we finally find out why, indeed, Mr Mims is hot. It is because he is fly. The listener, might at this point start to wonder if he or she is hot too. Quite the opposite, expert on hotness Mr Mims explains by convindently stating that "you ain't". But rest assured that Mr Mims is not going to leave you in limbo as to why you ain't hot. It is, in a statement captivating in its simplicity, "coz you not" .

never really cared for Gerald. he's was good at his job but Stephen and he do not have the personalities for a podcast. I don't think PHNX will be hurting too much with him gone.

Dudes looking gnarly for sure going into the next season. His impact on the game will be felt but there's also a small chance of fatigue and maybe not much individual box score growth with KD joining the team but once KD is gone in a few years he could be a monster. It's sort of an equation of how much usage Sengun/KD/Amen gets with the departure of Green and Brooks if we're talking box score stats.

If KD thought, he was underutilized in Phoenix. How's he going to feel in Houston?

He was a turnover machine when he tried to dribble too much. He was abused on defense it seemed also. There were no name dudes who when they looked up and KD was guarding them, they had a green light.

If he's smart KD will feed off Sengun. He didn't have anyone like that on Suns.

I've been a fan since OKC and mostly GSW and I've believed what some great coaches and players have said about KD. So I am admittedly biased. I understand how some local fans might have formed different opinions (of him and Book) based on the Suns' recent team performances, equating his/their worth with its putrid play. I look at it differently, paraphrasing the old adage: Even his exceptionalism couldn't "make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." Don't forget that 17 of the 20 players last year averaged a collective 45 points per game. That made one lousy team.

And I do not think Sengun has to wait for Durant to retire to up his stats. Strangely enough Jalen took almost the same number of shots as KD, 17.5 to 18.1. The nominal difference would have been made up by KD's 4.2 assists per to Green's 3.3. I suspect Alperen will profit the same as Book did with KD's presence. But in any event, he does not seem worried: https://www.reddit.com/r/rockets/comments/1mts297/alperen_sengun_talks_about_kevin_durant_being_on/

I'm more excited to watch based on Ime's understanding though: https://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/rockets_ime_udoka_sheds_light_on_kevin_durants_selflessness_team_first_attitude/s1_17031_42737208

both suns podcasts are in a bad spot right now, they need to get rid of everyone. What a snooze fest. Gerald was boring and it’s not a great look when you stand on the grave of someone to push whatever you deem more important. It comes off as very disingenuous. There was a lot of that going on this week.

Kevin O'Connor:
Isaac Bonga looks like he deserves another chance in the NBA. The improved jumper seems real: He’s made 38.3% of his 3s in three international seasons. Could be a steal of a signing like Yabusele was last summer.

Bonga is only 25 years old yet and he has been named the best defender at 2025 Eurobasket.

He plays for Partizan Belgrade and is under contract until 2027 BUT he included an NBA out clause in his deal.

I think he would be a very good acquisition for the Suns.

Return to Phoenix Suns
