It's his strategy to make the 6th-15th best players at their position the top paid ones.

That's why he had to trade Micah.

Smith is an all pro.
When the cowboys sign players late they are mocked.
When the cowboys sign players early they are mocked.
Trolls are gonna troll I guess.

It also breaks my heart. Because there's no way we're keeping Grey Zabel at this rate, with where the market for Guard's is headed. The top guys will be getting upwards of $30m on the open market very shortly it would appear. :(

So yeah, **** off Jerry!!

With all respect to PFF…

Watching him week in and out is my perspective. He’s damn sure good enough to warrant this deal.

Sorry, but there's no inconceivable way where a Guard should be paid that much.

Tackle? Sure. But not a Guard.

Looks like times are changin’

If it’s going to 30 million good job getting him in the low 20s.

Once again, Jerry sets the market. I'm sure other teams are thrilled.

Any team would have given Smith that contract.

That's not true. There are definitely teams who don't value the Guard position in that way. Seattle being one of them.

$18-$20m seems to be the going rate. But he got $3m more than the highest paid ($21m). Which resets the market.

Well he definitely had to be the highest paid. Anything less than 22 million would have been silly. So you are upset about 2 million?

It's funny cause you're the one derailing right now.

Actually it's not funny, it's pathetic. You got me on ignore but still respond to my comments.

Either way, Tyler Smith isn't a Top 5 guard.

Well, I certainly would not have made him the highest paid.

But Jerry doesn't seem to care.

I didn't say anything about the Bland extension. Do I have to give Jerry credit when he does a good signing for Cowboys snowflakes to not be triggered? For once he didn't make a good, non-Top 5 player the highest paid at his position.

Well if you think a young guard who is an all pro isn’t going to command top guard money I don’t know what to say. lol

Why was he 2nd team All-Pro in 2023 but didn't get a vote in 2024?

2024 was another good year. Followed it up with a pro bowl nod.
Thanks for adding to my argument

Mac Jones is a Pro Bowl QB.

12 guards got an All-Pro vote in 2024, but Smith got none.

The body of work is what counts.
What contract would you have offered him?

Still doesn't change my stance.

Why are you choosing to pay that much for a guard?

What I wanna know is why did PFF give Tyler smith a below average grade for week 1 when Tyler smith didn’t even have to face Jalen Carter?
