It's going to be a tough season but I still look forward to Badger football. I'll have a game thread up on Wednesday.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

YouTube TV (which I have) and Fox's deal expires tomorrow. If no agreement is reached all Fox stations will be removed, this includes BTN. I like YouTube TV but I'll be pissed if I have to miss the Badger game Thursday night.
ETA: Fox One streams all Fox channels and has a 7 day free trial. I will do that if the deal isn't in place by Thursday.

I am always one that believes these deadlines always are hit at the last minute and I don't worry much.
But I definitely could see the Badger game as a casualty here. Last year, I think DirecTv skipped some week 1 college football in the ESPN/ABC dispute because obviously the big ticket is later college weeks and NFL. I think they shut it off right before the USC/LSU game and reached an agreement later that week.

Agreed. Although the deadline is tomorrow the real deadline is Saturday for Texas/Ohio State. But that at least is available over the air.
Fox One is on Roku but I still have to sign up for the trail, give them my payment info and then remember to cancel within 7 days. Hopefully it's not too glitchy, it debuted last week, same day ESPN's streamer launched.
YouTube TV isn't as large as Comcast and Charter but they do have 8 million subscribers.
Or I can go to a bar Thursday night.

It's funny how all these deals have deadlines right before the start of the either best college football game or the noon nfl start.

Sounds the the Badgers have a future pro starting for them as a redshirt freshman.
I think the thing I'm looking forward to most this season is some of Fickell's high school recruits getting real PT. Guys like Mandell, Dilin Jones, Dupree, Hilton, Agard, Dillan Johnson, etc. Alliegro too but he was already a starter. And the best of the bunch might be Kevin Heywood who would have been the starting LT

Ooooh, this is the post I was trying to remember last Thursday. "Oh god I hope we weren't talking about 74"

Re: Badgers Football - 2025 Season
Badgers open as 21 point dogs.
I honestly have no clue what to expect from this game. I thought Bama looked crappy in their first game against FSU. Ty Simpson wasn't good, and they don't have the usual amount of playmakers on either side of the ball. Their offensive line can push Wisconsin's line around and that might be the difference. A three TD difference? I have no idea.
I think O'Neil has looked great and Edwards was good last season. Much better than the Badgers have had over the last decade. I think that should give them a good chance if Bama is the team that looked bad against Castallanos. That guy could really move and if O'Neil plays well outside the pocket he might pose a problem.
But Wisconsin's also played really mediocre football for most of the first eight quarters.
So yea, I really have no idea. But 21 points seems high to me.

Re: Badgers Football - 2025 Season
Sagarin has it at about ~19-20...the funny thing is both of these teams had the benefit of the doubt in those metrics so I couldn't tell you what to believe.
Bama may have their fall to mediocrity but the predictive metrics still love them as a top 5 team. As the Badgers fell at the end of the Chryst era they still got love there.
This is kind of a "shrug, I don't know" - 21 seems like something we can cover late or maybe artificially keep the game close. We just don't beat teams like this - but maybe Bama isn't what they were. I just don't see how the Badgers consistently move the ball when Bama knows that we cannot run. Eventually one of their playmakers will break something and put the game out of reach.

Re: Badgers Football - 2025 Season
Seems like Edwards is doubtful going into this game if Evan Flood's tweet is to be believed. I also saw some whispers that Edwards was more likely to be back in ~3-4 weeks when the injury first happened.

Move this to the appropriate board as needed, but I wanted to get in my 2 cents on this post.
I’m completely willing to give Fickell the benefit of the doubt, and I think he was dealt a MUCH worse hand from Chryst in terms of players/schedule and then has had terrible injury luck with QB despite being left with zero scholarship QBs. All that….but….. Phil Longo and his air raid offense was a **** disaster. Firing him was the best move Fick has made. Simultaneously, hiring him was the worst move he made. I don’t want to hear air raid again in Wisconsin.
FWIW, Sam Houston is 0-2 with two charitable 17 point losses thus far. That dude sucked.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Any reason stadium naming rights can't be sold and used for NIL purposes?
