lol sure the starters in Greece are fine talents

Better than in vast majority of other teams in Eurobasket. Superstar with 40% usage should make the difference, we have seen how it went yesterday 12 points with - 30 +/-, far the worst in his team. Sure, blame his teammates.

Lmao your bias is showing. The guards Greece has are pretty awful, making the semi final is an overachievement. But go on about how one player should always make the difference in a team sport

Look, I just explained to you why Giannis has much bigger problems in Eurobasket than in Nba. If you believe non shooting big, is perfect for Eurobasket, then you probably don't know the rules, which makes his job far more difficult than in Nba.

I have two questions

1. Did something like food poisoning or some illness depleted Greek energy?

2. Is Mirotic OK?

Giannis had bad games in the NBA too. He was torching everyone in this Eurobasket tournament before the last game. I am not sure why you think his job is "far more difficult."

This was not just like some random RS game, it was like game 7 of the playoffs. He might have his last chance to win something for Greece tomorrow. He wasn't exactly successful in previous competitions.

I find the 3d place matchup more compelling. Germany's gonna get gold for sure but Finland-Greece could go either way

It depends. If Germany and Wagner shoots as well they did against Finland this might be the result. But Germany shot quite badly previous two games. 3 point shooting is just so important in modern basketball.

But go Finland

What happened to Lauri? He started as the best scorer of Eurobasket and in last rounds he looks like unplayable.

In RealGm we have some words to described that.
"exposed", "overrated" etc :D
If you have more "Posts" than "And1", don't feel bad if I didn't reply to you - I just don't like to speak with people who argue a lot

Giannis in semifinals with a bad team full of bad teammates is somehow less impressive to some on here that see filling the stat sheet and going home early… there are some biases showing.

In terms of style of play he's closer to JR Smith than to Dirk. It's difficult to sustain consistent shot percentages and efficiency playing like that.

We all know who you're throwing a shade on to, you're not so subtle :D ... And the Greece team still wasn't as horrible as some would say it was lol. They did actually win games without Giannis as well.

Do you mean the qualifiers or the game they lost against Bosnia with Giannis sitting out?

I will agree he's closer to an elite roleplayer. He would thrive playing next to star offensive players who are able to create against good defenses and get him the ball. Unfortunately for the Jazz he's making superstar type money.

You're right they won 1 game and lost the other but it was at least close. Overall Greece still wasn't the worst team (without Giannis) in the tournament.

Ah, true, they beat Cyprus without Giannis. I mean, sure, that counts as win, but Cyprus is really only in the tournament because they're hosts. Their team is comparable to Austria, Denmark and those kind of countries.

That said, Greece definitely isn't the worst team. Cyprus is worse, as you said, I'd also say that Greece could probably keep the game close against Iceland. Keep in mind that Iceland lost to Slovenia by 8 points. Thus, Greece minus Giannis could give them a good run for their money and possibly win in the end.
I'd probably put Czechia behind Greece. They didn't look competitive in any of the games they played.
