If there was a positive spin put on this, the combined record of their opponents was 29-5 last year. Not sure anyone has had a tougher 2 games.

If they lose to Dallas and Vegas, I think we can start looking at next years draft, which unfortunately looks weak right now, but it’s early.

For the fans who wanted us to trade the 1st pick for a King’s ransom, are we allowed to root for Caleb to play better next week or are we not good enough for that?

Their entire OL is concussed too...regardless, not good. Can't complete a pass to save his life. Making Caleb looks good. Not hyping up the teammates on the sideline tonight :D

edit: lol he thought he had a free play and seemingly threw an interception on purpose...the flag was on MN.

22 years old the youngest QB in the NFL, and more raw than Drake Maye. I bought his stock.

JJ sucked tonight.

That Vikings loss was really awful. If we're sitting at 1-1, it'd be completely fine.

I really think the next 2 games are must win. If we're 1-3 or 0-4, time to prepare for next year with Poles hopefully fired.

Am I allowed on the Caleb fan bus or are you still doing background checks?

Turns out you mocked his appearance in your posts

That’s an automatic failure, sorry.

Our GM drafting more picks is not what we want.

Not good enough, sorry. Go watch Fields please

If Bears fans watched Penix and McCarthy tonight and saw all the missed throws and holding on to the ball for too long with the same careful eye they do with Caleb, their heads would explode

But they don’t, so that’s good.

Just finished watching the game. On the bright side, Caleb actually looked pretty promising tonight when he wasn't being chased down by the Lions pass rush. Had a number of good long throws in the 20+ range. The connection with Rome is very good.

That's maybe the only silver lining, other than the running game looked good for a change. So yeah, two bright spots, everything else pretty horrid. O line, D line, secondary (esp. Tyrique), and JJ and TJ re-injured. The defense really fell off a cliff when those two went out.

No pass rush again, holding/personsal foul penalties on almost the whole O line other than Thuney.

O line getting so little push they couldn't pick up 1 yard on two tries.

Agreed. If we had closed the deal v. MIN, and were 1-1 right now, getting blown out like this would not be so terrible. But at 0-2, they need to show that they aren't just a terrible football team, and are capable of putting enough good play together to beat somebody.

in fairness, I did write that McCarthy made Caleb look good. Junior Penis wasn't much better or whatever his name is

Okay, so Bulls fans who made fun of Dennis Rodman’s appearance weren’t allowed to root for him?

Bulls fans who made fun of Zach Lavine for being a pretty boy weren't allowed to root for him?

I’m glad you’re carrying out such an important role on this board, determining who we can and cannot root for. Godspeed.

I didn’t see the Min/ATL, and have not commented on it. I hear there were Falcons hanging all over McCarthy. But we can evaluate JJ each week if that’s what everyone wanted. I didn’t know. Just to stroll down memory lane though, Caleb’s first 2 games last season, kind of McCarthyesque. Truth is, both quarterbacks are under construction, especially JJ. Caleb, surprisingly so. We should have a careful eye. Caleb was the number one overall pick. Has 19 games under his belt now. McCarthy was rumored to be a player the Bears were interested in as the other guy they liked last year. Haul trade option in that case. I suspect the Bears and Poles rejected that idea if it was true partly the Bears were in win now mode, and JJ isn’t ready to keep up with the Bears.

A world where Poles is a laughingstock in the local and national media.

0 production from the entire 2025 draft class through two games is a step in that direction.

It doesn’t get more laughingstock than the Eberflus era and they wouldn’t let him go until the very end.

No chance Poles goes anywhere.

The obvious time to fire Flus was after the 2023 season. Instead they waited until late 2024. So it was about a half season too late, but they still ate two years of his remaining contract.

I don't understand this. Kmet is actually good, right? 3 receptions all season. Low hanging fruit.

How many targets between Kmet and Loveland through 2 games?

The only thing about his appearance that I care(d) about is his height.

I called him a taller, slower Kyler Murray and felt the roster needed more good players on it in order to truly compete (in particular at the OL, DL and at the time WR). The OL and DL are still substandard but Rome is a really nice player (as I'm sure Loveland and Burden are but can't show because of a hilarious logjam at their positions).
