We’re getting so close.

It's Jett's birthday today, and he didn't get a happy birthday from the Magic.

Yes he did.

He is what I hoped Chuma would have been after seeing him in Auburn.

A 6'8 3&D player than can guard 2-4.

He’s signed with Partizan, but a few things jumped out in the German celebrations:
1. Tristan in the locker room as the team is specifically praising Bonga yells “League him!”
2. Magic assistant Randy Gregory was celebrating a lot with Bonga based on the photos I’ve seen.

Even if you salary dump Jett, I don’t believe that’s enough to sign Bonga (assuming he has an NBA out clause) and a 15th guy.

Bonga’s biggest issue was shooting, and he learned how to be a good 3-point shooter at Bayern Munich.

It would be enough.

The Magic are currently about $1.2M below the hard cap first apron.

Punting Jett would free up another $5.5M leaving the Magic approximately $7.7M under the hard cap.

That’s enough for two veteran minimums.

I see this as a good idea. But the Magic doing-nothing-more is also a good idea. Then at the trade deadline there will be a lot more options.

The Magic has a perceived early start in difficulty. So if Orlando runs up the score in the W column, so to say, then I think a trade like you suggest is kind of a must.

Frankly, Howard is dead weight. He is purely a contract at this point. But an unmovable constant until a team is trying to shed a player (tank).

Bonga reminds me of a Nesmith type player. Athletic, plays good defense, and hits open 3s. He's a perfect role player
