I wonder what his NBA MVP odds are for this season. I might be able to retire on a $5 bet!

reason is pretty obvious. on fiba stage he can just ball out without any care in the world. he has the ultimate green light most gamedays hes the best player on the floor because franz just cant shoot.

in nba you have to deal with mental hurdles like, is this a good shot, can i take this shot, how does this affect my money, yadayada. Schröder is one of many in the NBA. a small and quick guard, kind of a liability on defense and gets hunted on that end, etc. on fiba he is a standout.

its all mental.

Just to add another perspective and my own point of view - I believe its not as much mental as its competition based. The level of talent in the NBA compared to the level of talent in fiba is way too different. Germany has a good amount of decent players that can stack up pretty well against all teams, so Schroder can pass or shoot efficiently. Another huge difference is there is no 3second rule in Fiba, so hiding Schroder on defense or having him guard a weak offensive player is a lot easier. In the NBA he can get exposed on literally every play when he gets targeted. Euro defenses are much more flat and disorganized, because of the lack of 3second rule. I am not an OKC fan, but watch the Euro finals and watch NBA finals and you will see how different the level of defense is - its almost as you are watching a different game. Schroeder will be turned into a turnover or a brick machine if he faces a defense like that. NO hate and no disrespect, he deserves the Euro MVP, but there is a reason why he can't find even a consistent bench spot in the NBA.

He has the best team in the euro competition.. Thats all...For the NBA he isnt a great shooter and he isnt an elite passer or defender he is an above average NBA player.. But he is not really elite at anything..

15 mil a year was starter money 10 years ago to be quite honest with you. he declined more than 20 a year with the lakers 5 years ago (obviously massive mistake).
