I see Duke has a point on the the Vikings QB history. They've had several stop gaps there over time.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

So you're telling me there's a chance lol Bengals have forced 2 INT each week this season so maybe they can keep up the trend. Image

Kid? He’s 31…and no need to feel awful for him either. Guy went from born in Seol, South Korea to HS through NJ and then college at Georgia Southern University. Went undrafted, got picked by the Chargers and earned $22 million in his NFL career. Guy’s had a great life, nothing to feel awful about.

Yeah good point. I have been following his career since the beginning and he is my favorite kicker of all time. Just don't want his story to end.

Russ got lazy reading coverages because he figure he could throw it up and Nabers would win every jump ball.

It’s like an NBA player who kept chucking too much after the first couple of shots went in and reinforced poor shot selection.

It’s far too early. Peyton manning looked awful early also.

My biggest issue is he can’t throw from the pocket. He’s great on the run but he’s very uncomfortable in a clean pocket

The thing with Peyton though, he had bloodline. 3.5 year starter at Tennessee (had to share those snaps with good old Todd Helton). Finished in top 10 of Heisman voting his last 3 years (2nd his senior year). And he was 6’5 with a big arm (arm started to go away with all the back and neck injuries). If there was a QB to be patient with, it was Peyton.

JJ was a hand off merchant in college. Never had a season where he even threw 3k yards. Is small, long delivery, average at best arm strength.

I would be much more willing to stick it out for a few years and ride with the inaccurate throws if he had some untapped potential.

But I’ve seen this QB before, it’s the same type of QB Minny always takes. Small QB with below average to average physical traits. Watched this with Ponder, watched it with Checkdown Teddy.

As a Vikings fan, it’s just engrained into me that they will never be able to draft a QB. My patience for QBs falls even quicker when we’re dealing with the below average to average physical trait QBs.

It’s only his second start.

Would you rather that the Vikings paid Darnold? They better take advantage of the kid being on a rookie contract.

I thought they said he showed pretty good measurables in the combine and private workouts. He was rising in that draft class.

I think would rather they have signed Aaron Rodgers at this point. Give McCarthy a year of running the scout team. He definitely looks like he could have used more reps.

I don't see the issues JJ's arm strength, that part looks fine to me. He also appears to have above average athleticism. There have been accuracy issues though. Even on his completions, it seems like receivers have to make tough catches and prevents them from any yards after catch.

Watching him yesterday, I would say no.

He threw 2 picks. But it should've been more. He looks like a 40 year old QB. Slow.

Based on how Darnold played for them last season, while winning 14 games. They likely would've preferred to keep him.

Honestly, I think he would've stayed in Minnesota had they offered him a similar deal to what he got from Seattle. Also keep in mind that the contract he got from Seattle is basically just a 1 year guarantee. The team can move on rather easily if things go south.

So, if you give Darnold a deal that doesn't involve a ton of guarantees beyond the first year, then it would've been totally justifiable to keep him around.

What about Daniel Jones? With the way he’s looking in Indy, maybe the move would’ve been to keep him?

I believe the Vikings made offers to both Darnold and Jones. I don't know how competitive they were financially, but I'd also assume both realized that the Vikings were looking to move on to McCarthy at some point and that probably affected their decision.

Rodgers can’t move when you pressure him. Every team is going to bring heat and he’s going to be dunking the whole year.

Not sure how Lamar escaped their top-3 TBH. His stat line is near flawless.

His season is done but it doesn't mean the Bengals season has to be. If Browning can protect the ball better and Zac actually calls some run plays, there's a chance they make the playoffs.

He is very welcome in Santa Clara. Especially would do well with azn fanbase.

PFF grades are very flawed until the late in the season.

Just a fodder for fans to feel better about their bridge QBs :)
