As terrible as the League Pass app is - I can't get it to work on my phone or tablet - I still watch it on TV. I like being able to see the opposing team's feed for Raptor games. I don't care that I can't watch it in real time. I found out a long time ago that it was WAY less stressful to watch Raptors games after I already knew what had happened. Or if they completely pooped the bed in a particular game, not watch it all.

VPNs worked with LP for a few years, but then LP started saying things like "if we find out you're using a VPN, we're cancelling your service". So I caved.

I terminated my Prime membership when they gave 70+ mill to Melanie Trump for the right to do a biopic of her. And Bezos completely wrecking the Washington Post. F those guys.

So if you just stick with Rogers cable including all the sports channels, will we still see all the Raptors games? And the same number of other games that TSN and SN usually show? Do we know that yet?

This should fall under "local" tv, so that the hometown can watch all games.

I wonder when TSN and SN usually announce their NBA schedules for non Raptors games, and will much change now? Have they negotiated any rights deals with the new broadcasters.

he said if you can't afford to watch the full games, watch the highlights. they still make money off that. they probably look at it as surplus income.

In response to how much fans have to now pay for the packages. He’s basically saying either you need to have tons of money or watch our highlights. Shows he doesn’t really give a **** about the fans lol

I noticed last year Canadian cable cared less about the nba. Both of the hyped up 1st place cavs vs okc last year which were usa primetime games weren't shown on any channels not even on nbatv canada and people were complaining on Twitter. Even the celtics vs lakers game weren't on any tsn or sportsnet channels

Yes this is pandering to the level of First Take talking points. I listened to Charles Barkley on Bill Simmons pod last week and Chuck was banging on...why do they keep talking about LeBron vs MJ all the **** time? MJ is retired. Move on. Talk about more than just why LeBron is the best ever. As I keep saying the NBA is more than just LeBron, Steph and the Lakers. ESPN has fed into this hot takes and highlights culture.

Luka, Shai, Joker...they should be marketing the hell out of these guys...but all we ever hear them go on about is LeBron, Steph and KD.

Reading their press release I think they are getting exclusive games starting 2026-27, it's delayed in Canada because the Rogers/TSN deal went through the 2025-26 season. I believe cable subscribers will have to sign up for Amazon Prime to see everything. At least we have one more season before that happens.

I think the players would disagree, given how much they are getting paid these days. Nobody flinches at a 9-figure deal for their 4th starter. I mean, even with Jaylen Brown the consensus was "yeah, Boston had to do it" and that was 300M lol.

What pays for these salaries?

Non-stop gambling ads and gambling related content during broadcasts. Creating gambling addicts is not a positive.

Ads on the jerseys and the court. Thise ads cheapen the game. Thus isn't a sport, it is an advertisement that pretends to be a sport.

Adam Silver's job is to grow the markets, improve revenue and increase valuations. All parties in the NBA are on board. Players, agents, owners etc. To that end he's done a fantastic job. They don't give a flying f about the everyday fan or hardcore fans. It's all business. They know most of the fans are casuals, media companies sign tv deals, corporations sign deals and buy boxes at stadiums, and everybody else can watch youtube or social media highlights.
