Haha my thought as well.
An “ankle sprain” that isn’t long term or serious. Almost like they felt like they needed to take him out to stop the avalanche.
Also I won’t be shocked if this “ankle sprain” begins to linger if Wentz steps in and looks decent-solid
Just saw it’s now a 2-4 week timeline for JJ. Maybe it’s legit, if so. 1 preseason game, tears his meniscus. 2 regular season games and he’s already going to miss a 1/4 of the season.
Hey at least Dallas Turner got a sack last night!!!
Did they really expect to contend with a first year starter at QB?
If the rest of the roster is too old and expensive to go through development of a young QB, maybe they should have kept Darnold no matter what.
They have to choose a lane, develop McCarthy or contend with a vet QB who's shown he can win games.
Ya I don’t think you go from a 14 win team. With guys like Jefferson, Darrisaw, O’Neill, Greenard, and Gink all in their primes. Then add old vets like Allen, Hargrave, Fries and Kelly. To then expect to not contend.
I think the plan pretty obvious. Have a roster that is expensive, then have a young QB on a rookie deal that should hopefully at minimum, be able to game manage. Ala the Niners with Purdy when he was on a rookie deal.
