I assumed it was because he was throwing well, and since he'd already faced three batters, if the Rays put in a PH that we think he matches up poorly against, they could always go to the pen then, vs Rodriguez who would have to face the minimum?

Whose pretending? Vlad has been been pretty disappointing in my opinion. He rarely ever gets big hits when we really need them. This is hardly a new narrative... Juxtapose that against Kirk, Bo, Springer, hell, even Clement and Lukes and Barger probably have come up clutch more than Vlad has and the list doesn't end there.

I'm not above trashing a guy... But were first place in the AL and EVERY SINGLE POST of yours is whiny complaining BS and it's absolutely nauseating. It's not funny if its a shtick, and if it isn't, you must just be the most miserable person on the face of the earth. You hate everyone and everybody on this team, including the coaches and management, sans Kirk and Varsho. Maybe you should find a new team and leave the rest of us to actually enjoy this amazing season. Two things from my view
1. We expect a lot from Vlad and rightly so. And some of his outs his approach seems bad, or result (ground ball) just seems to grind hard and lingers longer in our memory.
2. Vlad has taken the approach to seek more walks, and his walk rate is very high in clutch situations. This does result in "less moments" I suppose of big hits, but its not less effective, when we have a bunch of .290+ hitters in our lineup who can drive in runs with hits.

He has had a number of clutch plays the last month --- Cubs game before he got hurt. Twins extra innings. His September in General has been very strong, although his RISP play may be weak this month despite hitting .431.

Call me crazy but I think Gimenez needs to start at SS when the playoffs come around. That was a huge defensive play when the game was 1-1 in the 8th. Bo doesn't make that play, I don't think. Bo can DH. Have Clement play 2B. Barger can field 3B. Who's with me on this?

I suspect that’s the plan whether Bo is healthy enough to hit or not, they wouldn’t have taken the step of moving him off what has been a fairly permanent position in his MLB career if it wasn’t.

Yesavage has some insane stuff the arm angle on that splitter is just insane I dont know how you even pick that up out of his hands. Would love to hear the conversations hes having with Max and Bieber in the clubhouse.

Those hitters weren’t recognizing that pitch out of his hand whatsoever and I think the unusual arm angle/release point has a lot to do with it. I think Fisher similarly benefits from that effect.

How long do you think that arm will last with that unusual angle/release point? Has me a bit worried to be honest.

Nobody ever really knows with arms, which is why they should make use of him while he’s here and healthy. I think if he maintains this performance in about 6 days, there’s a real possibility we could see him start a playoff game. And even if not, there are still other ways they can make use of him.

The funniest part about Bo's tenure is hes been the worst SS defensively for like all of it. Like we really have Bo out there when we had Seimen, Clement and Gimenez at various points lmao

Absolutely loved what we saw from Yesavage. One note, if he’s starting, it can’t be before or after Gausman, their trajectories and wipe out pitches are too similar, though the slot is different. But I’d want a different look breaking them up on either side.

Also, I want to copyright the nickname “Buchet”. Trey Buchet.

Edit II: also, and never say never, but I’m not as worried about arm trouble with his delivery as most seem to be. The unorthodoxy in his delivery is almost entirely on his back, he kinda bends back to clear the high pitching path, so though it’s way over the top, the arm motion is actually pretty healthy and ~ conventional. And he torques around it very tight, short striding to get the high release all his pitches play off of. I’d guess back problems are the greater danger, but fortunately those are easier to lower risk via training than the arm.

Is he hitting right handed yet? Last I heard he was only hitting from the left side.
