But all of a sudden when Jokic loses, he's not good enough. Jokic needs more...I've seen this all too often...

What was Micic’s production the last couple of years in the nba? In Eurobasket? Micic was so good in serval games that the coach benched him. The Jamal treatment? You can’t be this ignorant unless it is, ofcourse on purpose, to fit your narrative. It is weak and pathetic that you would start an alt account for this weakass **** lol

The only weak thing in here is you continuing to harp on his account and posting history lol. It sounds like you DM him too, just like you did with me when you were embarrassed about your "Jokic is NOT him" thread meltdown. I usually don't attack people personally on here, but I guess it's OK in this thread since OP has been personally insulted like a dozen times for pointing out a Jokic flaw.

Personal insults are the weakest form of debate and for the least intelligent. Youre making them repeatedly. He can post about whoever he wants, and Jokic is the most polarizing player on this board to post about due to the amount of people who claim he's the best offensive player since MJ. They often do so because of his assist numbers (ill take a pg that collapses a defense all night over a standstill handoff/passing hub to get assists), and his TS% on the few different shots he takes (standstill open 3s, short roll floaters, fake handoff drives and some post stuff), overlooking that in tight playoff series (so against good teams) the ability to create and improvise a wide variety of shots is more important for a superstar than TS%. It's a very real thing and why many, like myself, are underwhelmed by him if he's supposed to be one of the best offensive players ever. Many people here claim he's better than LeBron James! There are some flaws there, and it's not leading to success in big games against good teams.

Personally insult him as what by calling out his agenda through his posting history. Context is important. Meltdown on the “not him thread” I made lol ok. Unlike other people who are fans of players I call out Jokic when he is not playing up to his standard.

Jokic is still a great player but with very real defensive weaknesses and that keeps him simply not on the level with top 5 all time GOATs. That’s basically his only flaw.

Very good post. You bring up some very good points about his offensive game in playoff situations that i am not articulate enough to put into words at least not while I am typing on my phone lol.

And yes, I did receive a PM from Aleseksandr calling me pathetic but I chose to ignore it because I know he's a very big fan of Jokic and my words and views have hurt him to his core to see his hero criticized.

I have no idea why just merely questioning Jokic is viewed as "trolling" or why i have been told to get a life by just asking questions about who many consider the best basketball player in the world today. But I guarantee you, if I was to go start a thread criticizing Lebron, Tatum, Harden, Embiid, Kawhi etc I wouldn't be called out for trolling or personally attacked. Only with Jokic on here you can't say anything negative about him or the cult will come for you.

Lmao. Yeah. Lebron threads are always the personification of civility.

And your thread wouldn’t be met with as much hostility if you didn’t rehash the same stuff over and over again as if you’re some great truth teller and we should all cross out legs, sit around in a circle and listen attentively. You’ve made your intentions on Jokic known time and time again. You talk so much of patterns but your post history is the biggest pattern in play here.

There was new information to discuss which was Jokic playing a big role in what FIBA deemed the biggest upset of the century. I didn't just rehash the Jokic failures in the NBA playoffs of the past few years, I brought new information to further back up my stance ive held on him.

And aren't you the same guy who once swore that Norman Powell was a better player then Aaron Gordon in order to try to diminish Jokic's supporting cast when they were losing in the Clipper series? And then later on you admitted to me you're just a Jokic fan with a agenda?

Yeah sure he's just a passionate basketball fan talking about basketball. Funny how he didn't say anything in the EuroBasket thread. Or in the thread that crowned Germany as the champs. Maybe his interest started and ended with following Jokic. It's funny how many times he mentioned Jokic cultists, when he's been following Jokic as closely as a super fan.

So what? It's generated alot of discussion, and this an NBA discussion board. Jokic is the most discussed player on this board due to the over the top praise heaped upon him by those only familiar with basketball post 2020, many of who claim he's the best offensive player since MJ (should've seen prime Shaq, LeBron, KD, and Curry!) But in all honesty, both Powell and Gordon are high level role players and sometimes, one can have a better game than the other. So it isn’t that far fetched to say that one was doing better than the other at the time.

It's because people on this board can pick up on the lack of objectivity from certain posters. It's fine to have a nuanced discussion about how good certain players are and express your opinion on it. But when you're consistently pooping on a particular player and writing off anything good that player does, people will pick up on that. It's the equivalent of Skip bayless starting a thread about LeBron to poop on him while pretending to just offer their and then being baffled that people are calling him out as a troll.

I don't think Skip bayless, who makes a good living in raising people's emotions to tune in, is the same as an anonymous poster on a discussion board. Bayless is a multi millionaire because he gets reactions out of people, and doesnt care if its a good or bad reaction. I also don't think Jokic is in the same class as LeBron though either, or even close for that matter. Jokic could do something to change the mind of people like the OP, or myself, but to this point hasn't. There are some here who rightfully question his all time annointment by this board and ability to show up in bigtime games or series, and put his foot down on the other team in "I'm the best player in the world" fashion. Guys like LeBron did that, for a long, long, time. Jokic has had 4-5 seasons being considered one of or the best players in the league, and already appears to be slowing down defensively with numerous players having a case for best in the world, with Wemby (a true generational type talent, ala Lebron) coming for them all anyway.

There's been a lull in the superstar department since the bubble. All timers are guys you can pencil into the conference finals/finals year after year, simply because they're on a team. It's not just Jokic. Giannis loses to every good playoff team he faces too. Luka doesn't guarantee anything. SGA has done it for a year and will have to do it again. Being one of if not the best player since the bubble (it's debatable imo) doesn't make Jokic some all time great. There simply haven't been consistently great teams or players during that time frame. Heck there were people here trying to say Denver taking OKC to 7 this year was a historical accomplishment (it was due to OKC playing poorly, which Jokic fans wouldnt acknowledge but was clear as day to everyone else), then Indiana did the same thing vs OKC just a few weeks later lol. Some of us think it's comical to put him in the class of greats that many here do, and see legitimate flaws in his game.

Jokic is lazy on defense.

Today, NBA fans hypothesize about how many more titles Shaq would have won if he cared more about keeping himself in shape.

In the future, basketball fans will ask how much more successful Jokic could have been if he actually played defense.

Well there is silence because people in the US don't really care about a European championship. What the championship really showed is how much more naturally talented Luka is in comparison even with great players like Jokic or Giannis. The guy is just unstoppable, he averaged 34.7 ppg including dropping 42 pts on Italy and 39 pts on Germany and in both cases the defenses were concentrated on him. He was also leading the championships in steals and second in assists. Meanwhile Giannis was held to just 12 points in the semis by Turkey while Jokic has a really bad defensive game against Finland. Luka is so talented he's unstoppable both in the NBA and in the FIBA basketball.

Giannis gets away with not being good at reading defense, not being good at passing out of help defense, and having bad awareness, bad fundamentals, and bad decision making on defense in the NBA.

In FIBA, those flaws have been hugely exposed in all of Greece's elimination losses over the last 11 years that he's been on the national team. Giannis has never had a good game against a good national team at the elimination rounds.

Jokic gets away with not playing defense in the NBA, but Team USA really made him pay for it at the Olympics. Finland, a mid level European national team, with just two NBA / EuroLeague level players out of their 12 man roster, really made him pay for it at the EuroBasket.

Giannis is the reason you gained a bronze medal in this EuroBasket. Unless 30/17/6/2 ain't a "good game at an elimination round"(the game who decided who will get a medal).
Giannis is the only reason that the Hellenic team is sonewhat relevant.
Without him, we wouldn't even be in the final8 of every tournament in the last few years.

SpurNani wrote:So when Jokic can't get out of the second round in the NBA, his fans are quick to dissect and belittle/blame everybody around him for why a supposed top 10 player of all time can't win.

But what's the excuse for when Jokic and his heavily favored Serbian team can't even get out of the round of 16 in the EuroBasket?

Fiba is calling Serbias shocking loss to Finland the upset of the century. Finland has one active NBA player in Markkanen and he's empty stat tweener in the NBA.

Whats more disturbing about Serbia's loss was how it happened. Jokic was attacked relentlessly in the 4th qtr of the game, just as he was targeted in the Olympics against USA and in NBA playoffs. Nearly every big basket came at the expense of Jokic who some swear is above average NBA defender.

I am just wondering at what point do the excuses end and we start to question Jokic's impact on winning, not just putting up pretty stats. Former NBA player and Serbian national Darko Milicic stated that he knew the Serbian team was cooked as soon as Bogdan Bogdanović was injured. He states that the team can do without Jokic but not Bogdan Bogdanović. That's a pretty damming thing to say about a guy who is supposed to be the best player in the world and top 10 all time. https://www.basketballnetwork.net/international/darko-milicic-questions-nikola-jokics-impact-on-serbia-national-team

Meanwhile guys like Luka and Giannis who have way less talented teams have advanced further in the EuroBasket and they are carrying their teams. Even Luka is out there playing lock down defense in addition to scoring half of his teams points.

Can we finally call a spade a spade on what Jokic is and isn't?

How does the biggest Jokic hater of all-time have 25 upvotes, and he doesn't even care about FIBA outside of hating on Jokic for his daily posts of how overrated Jokic is, without any real analysis or facts whatsoever. Sort of like a specific poster which starts with the letter O....

He was clearly the best player in that game, he is the best in the world from 2022-25 and will yet again have another year as the best player in the world. Bro had a great game on both ends, what's next be a player-coach like Bill Russell? Set screens for himself  . You are focusing on his mid rim protection when he is a good PnR defender, and isn't afraid to contest shots at the expense of being persecuted by clueless people such as yourself.

Jokic's impact on winning is absolutely tremendous, check out his on/off stats. Incredible, really. Darko is a Jokic hater. I don't know what he did to you man....

I bet bro didn't even watch the game. You know who's actually the one who's overrated?

Giannis. Bro had one of the worst performances against Finland, he wet the bed on both ends, his team was much more stacked than Jokic, and he's getting carried to the max. His ahh hasn't been top 5 in the league since 2022. He has no defense outside roaming and rim protection which is only sub-elite. He can't playmake outside drive & kick. He can't score outside transition (bombs in the offs), and finishing (neutralized by elite rim protectors). Giannis is clearly more overrated than Jokic and any other player ever, Jokic is underrated.

Jokic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Greek Brick and Jokic also gaps Choka Doncic.

We can call a spade on what Jokic is, the best in the league. Stop cherry picking stats to put Luka and Giannis above
