Dude came out of nowhere and had a 16 year NBA career (23 total)

Also his style of play in his prime lead to him getting hurt a lot, he would mostly play through it, but because of the spurs setup pop limiting his minutes probably saved him from ending up crippled. Dude literally lost a testicle playing and came back for more

He did not come out of nowhere. He was arguably the best non-NBA in the world at the time. But yeah, he played long.

Pretty sure no south American had ever played more than 1-2 seasons in the Nba before Manu. Only he and pepe Sanchez have made it to the NBA from Bahia Blanca. When he got drafted he was still in Italian 2nd division.. not even Argentinians thought he would become a NBA icon, and we're famous for inflating all of our guys lol

In any case I made both arguments, no one would have guessed from his draft/origin he'd play that long, nor from his style of play though credit is due to pop for extending his career
