Yikes

Will they demote him after we go down 0-2 in the ALDS, or will they let the sweep happen to keep our winless playoff streak alive?

Great to win the first 2 in Tampa but I absolutely do not want to see Hoffman closing in the playoffs

We've been saying this for weeks.

He wasn’t throwing 93-94 until this week, that’s outrageous

Good hitters will annihilate that

Jeff Coughman got lucky tonight with terrible swings from Rays hitters. Very good hitters come playoff time will destroy 93/94 miles per hour pitches. He needs to be removed from the Closer Role, for Braydon Fisher or even Dominguez.

Easy win.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Valiant effort just comes up short for the Twins. *Shrug* delaying the inevitable

93-94 is workable if he has good command, the problem is, if your velocity isn’t there you have no margin for error on the location. In other words, for Hoffman to be effective his command needs to be precise and he needs to incorporate a greater variety of pitches. Its a tough conundrum to have, especially when the command has been suspect at times.

It just sucks because even if the Jays do go with someone else, you effectively destroy any confidence Hoffman has, which doesn’t bode well for a bullpen thats already been super shaky. I don’t envy Schneider here one bit, tough place to be. If it was up to me, you keep Hoffman as the closer and be open to giving Yesavage, Dominguez and Fisher some closing opportunties.

They literally can’t ignore that kind of drop, he’s been throwing 97 for 3 years. He’s not the same pitcher without that.

I really think that’s the kind of thing that could cause them to make a change far more than actual results

Oh well, that would have been a funny choke from 10-1

Fangraphs gives the Trashiners the highest chance in the AL (and second highest in MLB) to win the WS. Is their model based on which team is hottest right before the playoffs? Although considering LAD has the highest odds, that doesn't make sense.

It's good that even if the Jays lose tomorrow and Yanks win, they caught nothing on the Jays while playing Minny.

After tonight’s win, the jays now have an all time record of 3,850-3,850.
