I loved Splitsville. Reminded me of the adult comedies we used to get 20 or 25 years ago. Legit LOL'd often.

I haven't seen nearly enough Redford movies.

All the President's Men
The Sting
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
I'm also a big fan of Sneakers but that's a cheesey 80's hacker movie

Those are the first three on the list I'm gonna check out.

"The Old Man & the Gun" is an enjoyable little movie from late in his career. For those he directed, "Ordinary People" is very good, but "Quiz Show" is excellent

I've always loved A River Runs Through It. See that one maybe half a dozen times. But favorite film he starred in is The Natural. Mount Rushmore sports movie that I think is kinda magical.

Great films- also highlight the power of a great writer, 2 of the 3 (not The Sting) were written by William Goldman.

I love the movie. I laugh at this every time. Something is wrong with me

I'm watching it right now. That's a great one but the scene that makes me laugh is the hard cut to everyone in the lineup wearing the patch.

Speaking of Paul Rudd, I watched Friendship last week. What a ridiculous movie that honestly got better after I watched it when lines or situations would pop back up in my head
.

I've still never seen it. I've tried several times and just can't get over Redford at age 48 playing a 20 year old or whatever. I also never really liked him as an actor so that didn't help either. Maybe I'll try again.

PTA's One Battle After Another sounds like a legit masterpiece.

Can't wait. Was talking with my wife the other day about this, but as much as I love the Coen's and Wes Anderson (the first two to pop into my head) is PTA the best modern American director? Even what I would say is my least favorite movie of his is at least an 8/10. He's insanely consistent.

He'd get my vote. As you said, there isn't a bad movie in his filmography. There's not even an average one.

Nolan is the other guy who comes to mind for me but he's not American and I don't think I'd take his filmography over PTA's. Coen Bros have a strong case but have one true stinker together and Ethan's been working hard to scuttle his own reputation. Tarantino should be in the mix somewhere.
