I'd rather take a swing on a bigger defensive guard. JB, Deuce, Clarkson, Brogdon, DSJR, and Kolek is a very small guard rotation. DSJR would add some much needed athleticism but he's still small & small players can only do so much defensively. Especially one that does mesh well with your best players.

man,
DSJ was never a high IQ or strong defensive guard IMO.

Id be surprised if he has grown substantially over his time.

his defensive intensity and instincts seem to have taken a significant upswing lately. it's the offensive side i'm most concerned with. but i'm watching the redemption arc.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

I don't remember much, but if I'm not mistaken dude has small hands and can't palm a ball. No bueno.

Palming the ball is a violation.

Having a 3rd defensive point guard that can give you a different look than your first 2 DSJR could a similar thing to what Delon Wright did last year. If he can come in and play lockdown defense for a few mins that could change a game completely. That could be a lane for him to make the roster.

If we trade Deuce I think we actually might need DSJ fr now. None of our guards play defense

what happened to him?

he's the man in his hometown and didn't adjust to a bigger pond well mentally. i always hoped he'd put it together. it's too late for that, but he played good d for the nets so i'm open to working him out

Never really put confidence in his jumper. I think that was his biggest downfall.

That and he’s a mental midget. Put Chris Paul’s mind into DSJ’s body and you’ve got the GOAT PG. I remember seeing him blow bubbles and hoist halfcourt hookshots during layup lines at the Garden under, I want to say, Fizdale, and I knew right then and there this kid’s talent/career was going to be a total waste. He needed a very strong coach/program to straighten him out early. Never happened and now he’s in Europe.

Last time I saw him play... he really was a good defender

Once again, we say JUMP Dallas screams "HOW HIGH?!"

Good for Dennis though. He's worked hard to gain more opportunities.

Can't fault a club for choosing 32 year old Alex Len over DSJR. After passing on Thomas Bryant because the frontcourt was too crowded. Ouch.

We were never bringing DSjr on. Len at least fills something of a need though he'll probably be cut too.
